Real vs. Steal – Stella McCartney Britt Faux Glossed-Leather Platform Brogues

So I’m sure a lot of you will absolutely hate Stella McCartney‘s Britt / Elyse lace-up flatforms. Not only because of their polarizing design, but also because Stella McCartney doesn’t use animal originated materials for her line yet still charges a whopping $840 for these faux leather brogues. However, I’m also quite positively sure that just as many will loooove Stella McCartney for the very same reasons. While I personally can’t picture myself rocking these, I do somehow see its androgynous appeal to others – viewed through the man repelling lens, of course. But the price though? Still a total turn-off!

Update (12/09/2018): Spotted these fab Stella McCartney platform dupes at Steve Madden today! The SM “inspired” version has a few differences such as the higher wedge arch and the perforated upper, but the overall look is still very similar to Stella McCartney’s originals. Plus, Madden’s dupes are also made of man-made materials, so these are technically also vegan-friendly just like its pricey designer twin. I wouldn’t expect the highest quality or longevity from these shoes, but according to the reviews buyers seemed to be quite happy with their Hangisi dupes, so they might be worth a try. Real vs. Steal – Gucci Princetown Floral Embroidered Loafer Mules

Alright, let’s talk Gucci again. I know we’ve already featured the “Princetown” loafer mules here on this blog before, but that was just the basic, no-frills version and ever since the huge success of the “Princetown” loafer, Gucci has released like a gazillion variations of new Princetowns, so we felt obligated to show you at least one more of the most coveted Princetown styles. This blog post will focus on the floral embroidered one which features a delicate pink rose embroidery on the vamp and either comes with a fur trim on the footbed (~~$1.050~~ now: $1.100) or not (~~$780~~ now: $820). If you can afford the real deal, by all means, go for it since there are absolutely no signs of the loafer mule trend slowing down this summer. But if you’re on a tight budget and dropping that kind of money on ONE pair of shoes is simply not justifiable to you, keep on reading as we’ve discovered some amazing Gucci alternatives that won’t break the bank.

I found this dupe while browsing Amazon recently, the brand is called LaRosa and the loafer mules come in either black or white. I can’t personally vouch for this brand as I think these Gucci dupes are from one of those many generic China-based copycat sellers, but judging by the pictures, the quality looks decent for $59.99.

Real vs. Steal – Céline Rodeo High Ankle Boots

I feel like lately ankle boots have become the new high heels. Heeled booties? Yes, please! But favorably with a block heel, so the boots stay wearable and the heel height stays manageable. We know by now that French fashion house, Céline, can get away with pretty much anything and everything and still easily maintain that understated coolness vibe. Case in point: their latest “It“-shoe of the moment, the Rodeo High Ankle Boot; a very loooong and very pointy Western-style ankle boot with a wooden block heel and heavy, brass-colored studs along the sole. At first, I wasn’t much of a fan of the boot when I saw it on its own, but once the blogger and street style outfits started rolling in featuring these Cowboy-style infused booties, I was instantly won over: these boots have some serious iconic shoe potential. And if you can afford them, by all means, invest in them! If you can’t, however, just keep on reading to find more budget-conscious options that will give you a similar Céline Rodeo boot look.

I love Office‘s shoes! There I said it. I own several pairs of Office shoes and love them all to death! The quality is pretty decent, the prices are fair and the collections are all very up-to-date and with a lot of designer inspired, budget-friendly options in between. “Levi” is quite obviously inspired by Céline’s Rodeo boots without being a blatant knock-off, plus it’s quite affordable at £64. And it’s also available in a non-studded version if studs aren’t exactly your thing.

Real vs. Steal – Fenty Puma by Rihanna Bow Slide Sandals

The moment I first laid eyes onto these fancy satin bow slide sandals by Puma which came out as part of the new Fenty Puma by Rihanna collection earlier this month, I knew Rihanna would have another hit on her hands for the fashion-forward, sportswear-loving ladies (…and men since these are also available in men’s sizing). The new styles are supposedly inspired by the luxurious Parisian days of the famously known decadent Queen of France, Marie-Antoinette, the bow slides are a glammed up version of the classic soccer slide with a super cute satin bow adorning the slide strap which come in either a beautiful pastel pink or edgy olive green. The bow slides retail for $90 which is obviously far from being a designer shoe price, but a) these sandals are so in demand right now that they’re almost sold out everywhere and b) not everbody wants to spend almost $100 on a pair of pool slide sandals, so we took a look around to see whether we could find some lower priced alternatives. Spoiler alert: we did!
