It’s been a while since we last had a new addition to the team, but we are proud to welcome our newest writer, Roseanne, to the team. Read her interview below to get to know her better and don’t be shy and give Roseanne a warm welcome here @ ITC.
Roseanne, please tell our readers a few things about yourself. Where do you come from? What are you doing for a living? What’s your favorite food & color? 🙂
R: I was the first person in my family to be born in America, and raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia. Both of my parents are from Ukraine, therefore I am easily influenced and inspired by other cultures. Currently I am a student but strive to be a writer/journalist some day.
I try to be as adventurous with food as I can, but my favorite food would have to be sushi. Also, I have a slight obsession with mango fruit tarts.
My favorite color would have to be red, but my closet mainly consists of neutrals and tons of black just because it is such a versatile and universal color.
How did you get involved with fashion?
R: Since I was a little girl, I had always been inspired by different cultures, art, and most importantly the people surrounding me. I remember watching my mom preparing to go out, and fondly observing how she got dressed and did her makeup. I think that is where I got most of my initial inspiration from.
What’s your personal style? Any favorite designers/brands?
R: Some of my favorite designers include Marc Jacobs, Diane Von Furstenberg, Valentino and Helmut Lang for more casual everyday wear. Chanel is definitely on my list as well due to my awe for the classics. I also love new and coming designers who have raw and innovative ideas. I find fashion to be defined by more than just clothing and accessories but also a novelty.
How long have you been following InTheirCloset.com already and how come you wanted to write for us?
R: I have been following InTheirCloset.com for about a year and have to say that I check for new posts religiously! I wanted to write for InTheirCloset.com because I have always been passionate about both fashion and writing, so I felt that I could contribute my finds and ideas with others who I can relate to.
If I was a fashion-item, I’d be…
R: A Vita Fede Mini Snodo Ring. I adore the mixture of rose gold and silver; it’s simple yet elegant, and contemporary yet classical.
I would never wear…
R: Crocs… I just can’t fathom how to wear them and look somewhat trendy/stylish and most importantly with what?
I can’t leave the house without…
R: My cell phone and watch. With modern technology, the contents of my life are stored on my phone and not knowing what time it is leaves me in frenzy.
Best Spring 2012 collection?
R: Reem Acra. I found every piece to be so wearable and figure flattering for almost every body shape out there. I believe there is a piece for every woman’s taste in Acra’s collection.
Your mantra for 2012?
R: With passion and optimism, one can achieve anything.
Thank you, Roseanne, for taking the time to answer these questions and again, WELCOME!
