The zipper on the heel is so crazy, sexy, cool. Once these wedge booties had been discovered by the fashion blogosphere everyone went gaga for them, they sold out in an instant & were never to be seen again.

As always Jeffrey Campbell is the man to turn to if you’re looking for a budget-friendly version of these edgy, sold-out-everywhere wedges. His “Pixie” wedge booties may be suede and they also miss the hiking sole, but everything else from the shape to the zipper on the heel is identical. Plus, they are also more than $150 cheaper.

So, did you catch the zippers & buckles trend for this season? This is majorly thanks to Balmain & Giuseppe Zanotti who presented this trend in their wonderful Fall 2009 collection. Take these suede zipper boots here for example. They are absolutely gorgeous and I would LOVE to rock them, but at $1.975 a pair this isn’t going to happen… sad, but true.

I nearly fell off my chair when I saw these hot babies by Anne Michelle popping up on LuLu*s “What’s New“-section. They look so close to the originals and are sooooo affordable at the same time. Major excitement! Yes, they are faux-suede, but it’s almost impossible to get real suede at such a cheap price, so don’t complain.
