Anyone remember these Zara flats? For a couple of weeks, these were the no. 1 shoes on Instagram and it seemed like everyone and their mom owned a pair. If they look somehow familiar to you, you’re absolutely right as they are a beautiful hybrid of Isabel Marant’s studded Leo flats and Aquazzura’s Christy lace-up flats (see another lovely Isabel Marant and Aquazzura hybrid example here). I’m not sure how much they retailed for, but I guess probably somewhere around $80. Now that isn’t expensive for a pair of chic flats and probably also the reason why these babies were sold out in no time at Zara. I tried my best to score them, but no such luck! Boohoo!

It’s mostly all about high end designer fashion here on this blog, but once in a while a trend is born right among us in the budget fashion sector. Case in point: these vividly blue Zara slingback high heel sandals. I feel like I’ve seen these strappy heels a thousand times on Instagram this year and I’ve been obsessed with them ever since I first saw them on the Zara website. They weren’t expensive at $79.90, but unfortunately these heels sold out so fast that many didn’t get a chance to buy them in the first place, me included. I then tried to hunt them down on eBayebay, but the asking prices of $100+ (for used shoes!) were absolutely ridiculous! So I was slowly coming to terms that I would have to let these beauties go. Luckily, I was wrong!

Because I just happened to stumble upon these spot-on Zara dupes at Missguided. They’re absolutely identical in terms of design and color, plus they’re $40 cheaper than the Zara version. Personally, it’s all about the vibrant blue color for me, but these heels are also available in nude, black and berry red faux suede if these colors are more to your liking.

Even though I am not very partial to Birkenstock shoes, I know Céline made them “très cool” last year. And this year, we have Isabel Marant strengthening their coolness factor even further by adding a cute studded bow on top and giving those bland Birkenstocks her typical boho touch which we’ve seen in previous of Marant’s collections. Well, I have to admit I kinda like these summer sandals here and I bet these suckers are super comfortable to wear!

Jessica Buurman “LEILA” Bow Tie Ankle Lace Up Flat Sandals

So you can’t afford to spend $600 on the originals yet these shoes just won’t go out of your head? Well then take a look at this Jessica Buurman sandal which is quite obviously inspired by Marant’s “Edris” sandal above. It’s not a perfect dupe and you obviously won’t get the same quality, but it’s $440 cheaper, so that’s that.

I remember very well how I totally fell in love with this strappy high heel sandal the first time I discovered it on Zara. I was especially smitten with the bright turquoise suede version. For some reason I decided to wait and see whether these would go on sale. As you can probably imagine it wasn’t the best idea because unsurprisingly these strappy heels became quite the hit among fashion bloggers and hence sold out in no time. I still regret not snapping these up while I had the chance because they remind me of these fab Alaïa sandals which I absolutely adore.

Obsession Rules “Victoria” Strappy Suede Sandals

UPDATE (04/12/2014): Stumbled upon this Zara dupe by Obsession Rules which is actually $10 more expensive than the real deal, however, overall it’s a rather reasonable price for a real suede shoe and if you’re desperate for the look of the Zara heels, these are a an almost perfect match (the only noticeable difference is the slightly lower heel of these).

No need to worry though because I happened to come across these wallet-friendly faux suede heels by Bonnibel which are a total 1:1 dupe of the Zara sandals above. Too bad these don’t also come in turquoise. But black and beige are absolutely fine, too!
