Yellow

Every season that It handbag hits the market, making every head turn with its one-of-a-kind appearance. For instance, currently trending is the Reed Krakoff Boxer Leather Tote with its interesting “boxy” look, surprisingly not overwhelming to the eye. On the contrary, the mellow blend of beige, off-white, and yellow creates a modern yet classic vibe. Whether $1.090 is a justifiable amount to pay, however, is another discussion. For now, check out the alternative!

ALDO “Lakatos” Satchel

On the topic of handbags, I love this ALDO satchel. Signaling a similar vibe as its designer counterpart, I can say that this would be a handbag to purchase. I absolutely love the colors, which perfectly fit in with any wardrobe. In addition to the gleaming look, this satchel is priced at an affordable $55! Also, I’m not sure if it’s just me, but the less boxy shape and more defined structure hints a big of Hermès. What do you think?

UPDATE: This post has been updated on April 17, 2012. Scroll down to see the new add.

So I know I blogged about Yves Saint Laurent‘s Palais pumps before, but the yellow version is just so lovely I had to dedicate them a post on their own. I remember first seeing them in yellow on The Shoegirl’s blog who called them her banana shoes (haha, so true! ;) ). I have yet to purchase my first pair of yellow shoes… do you own yellow shoes? I’d love to make these YSLs mine, but a) they’re so sold out by now and b) even if they weren’t, they’d be way out of my regular shoe shopping budget, so off I was to search for a more wallet-friendly alternative…

EXPRESS Peep-toe Platform Pumps

UPDATE (04/17/2012): And here’s another YSL Palais look-a-like with a peep-toe. These faux leather pumps by EXPRESS come in yellow and black.

Kelsi Dagger “Abrielle” Platform Pumps

UPDATE (11/17/2011): These Kelsi Dagger pumps are probably one of the most blatant knockoffs I’ve ever come across, but I kind of love them. Why? Because they’re way more accessible at $79.99 than at $700+. Available in yellow, orange, green, blue and black suede as well as black patent.

Promise “Lego” Platform Pumps

As with the blue Palais version, Promise once again comes to a broke fashionista’s rescue. But at that time no one had this knockoff in yellow which changed recently when I spied these YSL look-a-likes at Heels.com. Yes, it’s more of a mustard color than a true sunshiney yellow, but at $54.99 I won’t be the one to complain. Also available in black or fuchsia faux suede.

I absolutely adore the entire B Brian Atwood collection for several reasons. I appreciate how the collection is true to the label yet is more of an affordable version, without straying from Brian Atwood’s vision. Though I may not be able to purchase this shoe until it hits the sale rack, if it ever does, I cannot fail to express my obsession with it. The colorblocking adds a pop of color juxtaposing a simple pump with a not-so-simple pattern. However, if you don’t want to wait until the next sale, which may never exist in fact, check out the alternative below.

Steve Madden “OPTICALL” Colorblock Suede Pumps

HOT DEAL: Use promo code “SMSPRING15” to get 15% OFF + Free Shipping on your order of $75 or more! Offer valid until 06/30/12.

Featured on a previous post, these Steve Madden pumps are making their reappearance except in colorblocking form. The shape is very reminiscent of these Giuseppe Zanotti heels, but the colorblocking is very B Brian Atwood. To mimic the B Brian Atwood look the ankle strap is removable, so you can mix and match the different style this pump boasts. The amalgam of design and inspiration behind this shoe creates an eclectic feel that will last long both regarding wearability and trends.

So I really, really want a pair of bright yellow strappy sandals for Spring/Summer. As a matter of fact I actually already own a pair of yellow strappy sandals, but those are rather cool and edgy than cute, so I’m thinking about getting these yellow suede beauties by Topshop to further broaden my wardrobe outfit options for the warmer seasons. And while we’re at it: how beautiful is the light blue version of these heels? Love, love, love!
