UPDATE (06/16/2010): Doesn’t this quilted bag by High Fashion look like the Holy Grail of Chanel knockoffs? ALDO Bargen Quilted Handbag

Until you have enough pocket change for the real deal, you might want to settle for a less pricier version first. This quilted flap bag by Aldo certainly meets the criteria. Now don’t expect the same delicate quality of a real Chanel because there is simply no competition. But if you want an affordable alternative this bag is probably your best bet. It does have silver hardware instead of gold and it doesn’t have the cute CC clasp (which the original 2.55 bag however didn’t have as well by the way), but everything else is quite identical.

These buckled ankle boots were designed by shoe design genius Giuseppe Zanotti for the hottest brand in Fashionville right now, Balmain, for their Fall 2009 footwear range. I wasn’t really a fan of this collection until I saw these badass rocker booties. My only problem: finding the pocket change to afford these. Sigh!

You know how I know we’re good? Because we never forget a shoe. Or a handbag. Or a face. OK, so not the last one. Back in the old days (you know, 2005) the fashion world saw the introduction to the “It Bag” – a bag that became every starlet’s must have accessory. One day, readers (stay with me), Mary Kate Olsen was spotted carrying a gorgeous black, studded bag that no one could identify but that everyone immediately wanted. A year later the bag (eventually attributed to the talented, Alexander Wang) was made available to the public. It was then known as “Coco”; it is now known as “Rocco”; I can afford neither one.

I have to be honest, the last time I shopped at Wet Seal I was looking for something to wear to the school dance (in other words, it was 1998), but by golly perhaps Wet Seal deserves another look! Their Stud Bottom Satchel is a pretty darn great dupe of the Alexander Wang bag. True, it’s not made out of leather but I know there are vegans among us who actually prefer that. You know green is my all-time favorite color for as long as I can remember. And even though it’s not as prominent in my wardrobe as it was when I was a child, I still have a soft spot for everything green. So imagine my delight when Christian Louboutin came out with these suede ankle strap pumps this summer. It was like good meets better. What’s not so good about these? Yeah, the price obviously.

Butter “Stanley” Ankle-Strap Pumps

Butter have obviously taken a lot cues from Monsieur Louboutin for their “Stanley” ankle strap pumps. The knotted detail, the ankle strap, the material, the color, well, they basically copied everything except for the platform which is not as high. They are quite expensive for what we’d normal post as an alternative, but if you can’t get hold of the real thing and have a little extra cash to spend these here are the next best thing. And if you happen not to be a fan of the limey color, these also come in magenta, pink and powder suede as well as gold and silver metallic leather.

The colorblock tube dress below was one of my favorite pieces from Alexander Wang‘s Spring 2009 collection, but at one point the dress became so popular that I was sick of seeing it every second day on the red carpet. Now that the overexposure has stopped, my love returned, but unfortunately the dress has sold out since. Not that I could afford it were it still available.
