Gucci‘s S/S 2011 collection was some sort of style epiphany for me. I’d even go as far to say it was one of the best S/S collections I’ve ever seen. I loved everything from this collection: the colors, the fabrics, the silhouettes, the accessories and of course, the shoes! Gucci’s “Malika” strappy sandals sure do look luxe. The gold piping, the smooth velvet straps, the pin-thin gold stiletto heel. Perfection! Except for the not-so-nice price of $995.

ALDO “Boulger” T-Strap Sandals
If you love the look of Gucci, but don’t have the funds to support your designer obsession, you might want to opt for these more wallet-friendly ALDO heels instead. They’re not a dupe and definitely have a few differences, but the overall look still screams Gucci to me. Available in orange, camel & gold.

Jessica Simpson‘s “Dany” platforms have been quite the attention grabbers with their ultra-high 5.8 inch heel, but it was only recently that they’ve been able to catch my attention when I saw them popping up in this beautiful plum velvet finish that I’ve fallen head over (5.8 ich) heels for. If you’re a regular reader here at InTheirCloset.com, you’ll know the “Dany” is a dead-ringer for a pair of Charles Anastase platforms from his Spring 2009 collection. So if you’re a fan of sky-high heels, velvet or the deep rich plum color, why not also treat yourself this thanksgiving?

Diane Kruger is one of my absolute red carpet favorites. She’s always so flawless and on-point when attending public events. You’ll never catch her wearing some boring black dress or follow a trend blindly. She has impeccable taste and this reflects in her red carpet outings. Case in point: Diane wearing a black velvet jumpsuit (in fact, it’s a combination of matching blouse + pants, but it looks like a one-piece to me). Isn’t it just gorgeous on her? It’s not easy to pull off a velvet jumpsuit, but Diane masters it perfectly.

ASOS BLACK One Shoulder Velvet Jumpsuit
If you’re still looking for a holiday outfit and don’t want to wear what everyone else is going to wear, why don’t you opt for Diane’s look instead? I like that ASOS’ version is more snug and doesn’t have the exaggerated hips which can be quite hard to carry off if you’re not a runway model. Add a studded belt, statement shoes or a bright clutch to make your outfit pop and prevent it from looking dull. Also available in teal.
