Is there anything more feminine than a pretty pink heel? The first time I ever encountered a pink heel, it was on a Barbie—well, before she was shod in Louboutins, of course—and since Barbie is the ultimate girlie girl, I think the answer is most definitely YES! These pink suede Sergio Rossi peep-toes indulge the grown-up Barbie girl in all of us, don’t they?

Bebe Neve Snakeskin Platform Heels
Do the Sergio Rossi Cachet Peep-toe Suede Slingback Pumps have your heart skipping a beat? They certainly had that effect on me. And at $695, yeah, well, my heart felt that too. But it’s all moot since these lovelies are gone, baby, gone. Instead, feast your eyes on these Neve Snakeskin Platform Heels by Bebe. They’re available in fuchsia, blue suede, or black leather. I just adore a studded shoe. Well, truth be told, I’m loving a studded anything right about now. Thankfully there are more options this century than there were in the last one—we’ve moved beyond Bedazzler hideousness and full-on rocker paraphernalia. This lovely Prada sandal is a fab example of studs done right. There’s a hint of rebellion, but also a sort of 40s sensibility in the shape and structure of this shoe.

N.Y.L.A. “Naigel” Studded Platform Sandals
Yes, it’s true: celebrities (and even us mere mortals) love Prada. But the thought of stepping in a puddle or a crack while wearing a $636 suede-covered heel? Uh, I know that’s an idea I don’t love. If you’re of the same ilk, allow me to introduce “Naigel” by N.Y.L.A.. Now you can have all the studded, criss-crossed moxie of the Prada version, in a more resilient and less-expensive leather pair.

Drew Barrymore‘s outfit choices are as unpredictable as is her personality. And while she’s probably not the first who’d come to mind when thinking of a style icon, this outfit here I L.O.V.E. The actress made an appearance on Letterman to promote her newest film “Going The Distance“. Drew looked absolutely amazing in a bronze sequin top by Richard Chai with navy high-waisted Camilla and Marc pants and grey suede Yves Saint Laurent Trib Too pumps. I love how relaxed and glamourous she looks at the same time.

These Giuseppe Zanotti heels bring the bootie trend to a whole ‘nother level. I can’t decide weather it’s the swoop detailing at the ankle or the bad-ass (can I say that here?) grommets that I love most. Unfortunately these bad boys will set you back over 480 big ones, and that’s the sale price!

Mojo Moxy “Voodoo” Ankle Boots
These Mojo Moxy boots are obviously modeled after the Giuseppe Zanotti version. They may lack the same towering heel and gorgeous detailing in the grommets, but overall they fit the bill and the price is right. For a savings of almost $400 they’ll certainly get the job done. Also available in blue, camel & grey suede.

It was 2002 and I was a college student flipping through the pages of a fashion magazine. That’s when I first fell in love with Giuseppe Zanotti. The heels had a fairytale-esque butterfly perched on the ankle. It has been 8 years and I’ve doodled hearts next to many equally as beautiful shoes by the same designer. This stunning pair is less fairytale and more understated vixen in black with simple gold accents. Since every closet needs a bit of variety, these definitely work for me!

Oh. My. Lord. Every once in a while I am so captivated by a hot shoe that I am nearly rendered speechless. Nearly. The Nika Pumps by Rock & Republic are just such a pair. Yves Saint Laurent will be always one of my favorite high fashion labels. They belong to fashion much like the Eiffel Tower belongs to Paris. Where would be without this everlasting French house of delicate fashion? In 100 years from now on most designers which are being hyped right now will be long forgotten, but I’m sure YSL will be considered iconic for its cultural and aesthetic influence in our era. And rightfully so. Evidence A: see below.

Don’t get me wrong: I LOVE ankle boots and all, but over the last 2 years or so I’ve become kind of sick seeing them worn with everything. Especially on the red carpet where young starlets seem to think it’s so super cool and edgy to pair chunky booties with a white frilly lace dress. Yeah, no one’s done THAT before, try-hard. Most of those girls fail when it comes to carrying off such a contrasting look.
That’s why I really appreciate when shoe designers take a different direction with the ankle bootie trend and make them look less bulky and less in-your-face. The Jimmy Choos below are a perfect example for such booties. They’re modern yet subtle, but still feminine.

Liliana “Bandino” Studded Ankle Booties
These booties by Liliana are quite obviously a knockoff of the Jimmy Choos shown above. Don’t they look pretty awesome for $50 shoes? I think I even prefer these over the real Choos because of their rounder shape. Let alone the fact that of course I very much prefer their price which is way closer to my budget than the Choos. Another good thing: these booties also come in grey and purple (faux) suede.

Luichiny “Passa Fy” Booties
While these studded booties by Luichiny might not be as close to the originals as the Liliana ones, I think it’s still very easy to see the inspiration behind these. Sometimes it doesn’t take a designer shoe for another shoe company to knock it off. Now I really try not to jump on every trend that comes wafting my way but I gotta tell ya, clogs had me at “Hello!“. I have no real excuse for this. I’m not Dutch. I didn’t grow up in the 70s. But they call to me. There’s something so easy and carefree about them. Even when they’re sporting a 5 inch heel. There were a couple of designers that really caught my eye in the clog department this past S/S 2010 show season, but Miu Miu definitely tops my list. Look how cute they look on fashion blogger, Rumi, below. I love how the bridge of the shoe looks like it’s been worn down some; and I love the studs. I love, I love, but I can never afford. Boo! In any case, these are – not surprisingly – completely sold out.

ASOS “PROMISE” Leather Studded Clogs
ASOS and I are friends and I’ll tell you why. Because they always make great versions of the celebrity shoes and clothes I lust after. We can clearly see where they got their inspiration from when it comes to these leather studded clogs. The heel is obviously much thinner and the leather doesn’t have that worn-in look but I just think they’re astounding. The cognac leather looks wonderfully luxe and the arch is perfect. These are sure to make your legs look a mile long. They are also so affordable compared to the originals. I heart them!
