I can just imagine these dainty yet vibrant suede pumps by Christian Louboutin as part of the incredibly chic wardrobe of Doris Day’s Character, Jan Morrow, in the 1959 movie, “Pillow Talk“. She would have paired them with a matching bag and a lovely camel suit and coat. But coordinating our accessories isn’t really the style anymore, and with what you’re spending on this pair, you probably need to maximize their mileage. One of the most distinctive shoe styles of 2011 have been Giuseppe Zanotti‘s extreme wedge styles for me. I’ve loved them the second I saw them online. They do scare me a lil’ bit with their crazy 6 inch heel, but I still want them in my closet so badly. Not convinced yet? This blue suede platform pump is probably one of my absolute favorites from Giuseppe Zanotti. I love the sky-high heel, the shape, the vibrant blue suede and for a Zanotti shoe this pump isn’t even too expensive at $650. Of course, still too pricey for my own budget…

Real vs. Steal – Christian Louboutin Super Dombasle Cork Ankle Strap Platforms

Monsieur Christian Louboutin transports us back into the 70′s with his groovy “Super Dombasle” cork platforms. Well, describing these just as platforms might be a slight understatement. SUPER MEGA BADASS PLATFORMS would be more fitting, I guess. I don’t know whether I would be daring enough to rock these 6 inchers, but I sure love the bright turquoise suede on these and cork shoes are ideal spring/summer shoes.

So I know I blogged about Yves Saint Laurent‘s Palais pumps before, but the yellow version is just so lovely I had to dedicate them a post on their own. I remember first seeing them in yellow on The Shoegirl’s blog who called them her banana shoes (haha, so true! ). I have yet to purchase my first pair of yellow shoes… do you own yellow shoes? I’d love to make these YSLs mine, but a) they’re so sold out by now and b) even if they weren’t, they’d be way out of my regular shoe shopping budget, so off I was to search for a more wallet-friendly alternative…

As with the blue Palais version, Promise once again comes to a broke fashionista’s rescue. But at that time no one had this knockoff in yellow which changed recently when I spied these YSL look-a-likes at Heels.com. Yes, it’s more of a mustard color than a true sunshiney yellow, but at $54.99 I won’t be the one to complain. Also available in black or fuchsia faux suede.
