In my last Heel of the Day post my choice fell on a pair of uber-cool chunky ankle boots. My personal style includes a mixture of classic designer pieces and inexpensive trendy items. When I saw this striped blazer by Tory Burch (RRP: $325), I knew there was a designer space for it in my closet. The simple shape is given a new look with nautical stripes. I’m already running imaginary outfits through my head!

Miley Cyrus is not the first name coming to my mind when thinking about a stylish person. That’s mostly because every other time I see pictures of her she’s either wearing a skimpy stage outfit or denim cutoffs with a tank top and cowboy boots and well, let’s just say that this isn’t exactly my idea of a stylish person. But I recently stumbled upon these candid shots of Miley out & about in Toluca Lake doing her best French Chic look and I’m somewhat smitten with it. The songstress wore a striped Elizabeth and James pocket tee, a pair JET skinny jeans and yup, you guessed it right, a pair of so-hot-right-now Jeffrey Campbell “Charli” clogs. Her best accessory though? The arm candy aka boyf Liam Hemsworth. Yummy!

Givenchy‘s S/S 2010 collection was one of those collections that had to grow on me. First I was like “Where’s the color? What is it with all those stripes?” – I really wasn’t impressed. I’m still hesitant about the dirty-ish head-to-toe tribal looks and the weird conehead hats, but the rest I learned to love. Especially the striped blazer looks. I think we’ve established that we’re all fans of shoes here. Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, how many of us drool a little at the sight of that elusive red sole? Well… elusive… I should really speak for myself in this instance. Christian Louboutin shoes are way out of my budget but I still long for them from afar. His “Greissimo” pumps may just be my personal siren song. They are so adorably retro and feminine and so, so, SO… out of my price range.

Alexander McQueen is one of my favorite designers of all time and I frequently find myself falling in love with almost everything he designs. Back in March Victoria Beckham was rocking a dress from one of my favorite designers, Alexander McQueen, from one of my favorite collections of his, Resort 2009, with a pair of lustworthy Miu Miu whipstitch pumps, also one of my favorite shoes this year.
