Today we’ll show you what happens when you get inspired by both Acne Studios, Sweden’s hottest fashion powerhouse, and the epitome of Italian luxury fashion, Valentino. The result is a pretty awesome ankle boot; cool like Acne and detail-oriented like Valentino! Marc Fisher LTD did just that. The basic shape of their designer-inspired shoe looks like a spitting image of Acne’s Jensen boot. The minimalistic boot design didn’t seem to be enough for Marc Fisher though and so they went on to add star-shaped stud-details on the back of their Chelsea boot which bear an uncanny resemblance to Valentino’s stud detailing from the “Starstudded” collection. Coincidence? We don’t think so, and to be honest, we don’t really care because their Acne-Valentino shoe hybrid is a beautiful and classic ankle boot that’s both versatile and eye-catching at the same time. But the best thing is, you don’t have to shell out a whopping $1.495 or even $560 to get all of this shoe goodness, no, these beauties come at a fraction of the real deals’ price: $199 now: $139.30. Admittedly, that’s still quite a price, but the quality of these imported boots looks superb aaaaaand, now listen up frugal fashionistas, Lord & Taylor is currently running a promotion where you can save 20% off most items with promo code “MEMORIAL” (offer valid through May 25th, 2017 at 11:59PM EST). This would lower the price of the Marc Fisher LTD booties down to a little over $111 and they’re definitely worth that, don’t you agree?

Reinventing denim is not an easy task, but somehow the fashion industry manages to come up with new trends and variations season after season. A few trends from the last couple years have been: distressed/destroyed, ombré, floral print and pastels for example. Star print has been quite popular lately as well (we have written about Current/Elliott‘s star printed denim shorts here). Last year they also released a super chic semi-sheer star-print skinny jean which I loved! The print instantly adds interest to the outfit and takes this jeans from plain ordinary to fashionably chic. But $220? Designer denim sure isn’t for everyone’s wallet.

Update (07/02/2016): This jeans by Daisy Street isn’t really a Current/Elliott dupe, but the star appliques do give them a similar look, so I decided to add them as a budget-friendly alternative.

Only Star Print Skinny Jean

Luckily, we have a few brands from more affordable sectors that have also incorporated the star print trend. These skinny jeans by Only are a great alternative if you’re craving the designer look but don’t want to splurge on the original. The print is more opaque on these, but everythings else seems virtually identical.

InStyle’s July issue features some of the best shorts of the season, but they must not have seen this patriotic pair by Current/Elliott! The classic wash and length makes them incredibly versatile, not to mention how cute the subtle sandblasted star pattern is when paired with a simple t-shirt and flat sandals. But if wearing denim shorts all summer long isn’t the most practical for your lifestyle, perhaps you could invest in a less expensive pair to wear during all your 4th of July festivities. Scroll down to see our best find yet!

Lucky Brand “Riley” Star-Print Frayed Shorts

Now that you’ve seen this pair by Lucky Brand, and have stars in your eyes, what will the rest of your outfit look like? You’ve got so many great options! I’d suggest starting with a knit top or blouse in a personally flattering shade of red, dark blue or gray and add accessories in your favorite metallic shade. Maybe it’s an armful of silver bangles or perhaps some thin gold hoops? Either way, it’s best to select more understated pieces to keep the look elegant and not costumey. Lastly, finish the outfit with some nautical-inspired wedges, boat shoes or your favorite causal footwear… and most importantly, relax and have fun!

I think I am subscribed to at least 100 (probably more!) personal style blogs. And while at times it can be a little overwhelming to go through dozens of outfit posts every day, I am mostly very happy with the daily outfit inspiration pouring in from all over the globe. The personal style blog of Julie Sarinana from Sincerely Jules happens to be one of my very favorites. That girl’s got style in spades! On July 4th, Julie posted a picture on her Instagram profile which showed her wearing gorgeous star-print platform wedges and I immediately fell in love with those shoes! However, since Julie is mostly wearing higher end brands, I assumed these shoes must be by Charlotte Olympia or some other high end designer and felt instantly discouraged. Yesterday though I accidentally browsed through the virtual shelves of ShoeDazzle and voilà, there they were, the very same star-print wedges in red, white and blue as worn by Julie in her Fourth of July picture. I was ecstatic to find out they were actually a total steal, costing only a little over $40! Do you love these patriotic heels just as much as I do?

So can we all agree on Miranda Kerr being the most stylish of all Victoria’s Secret angels? Now I normally don’t get overly excited about the so called “model off-duty style“, but Miranda has been seriously stepping up ger fab game ever since she’s become a Mom. Check out her latest chic ensemble which consisted of a navy sheer blouse by Equipment, matching navy cigarette pants, Prada shades, nude Lanvin heels and an amazing zip leather tote by Céline. I’m loving her look here head-to-toe! What do you think?
