Sandals

With this nice weather finally streaming in, the sandal phenomenon has grown to new heights, literally. These crisscross sandals by Loeffler Randall are particularly interesting, and have been seen worn by both Leighton Meester on the set of Gossip Girl and Emma Watson. However, what I absolutely love about these sandals is that they are in pure form of versatility. Leighton sports a more preppy look than Emma who is on the complete opposite side of the spectrum with her rocker-esque ensemble. I truly love both looks, especially how well these “Paige” sandals are being worn. Though the price is beyond my budget, that doesn’t mean I shouldn’t indulge in the steal below.

Nine & Co. “Moonlite” Wedge Sandals

Although these “Moonlight” Sandals by Nine & Co. are in wedge form, they preserve the most significant aspect of the sandals above. That is of course the crisscross detailing, which is practically identical to the real deal. Plus, these are only $40 so one doesn’t feel guilty about splurging on a pair of out-of-budget designer shoes. Ultimately, you can still keep the versatile feature in addition to the comfortable wedge heel without spending too much.

Never was there a more comfortable heel for those of us who rarely wear flats. This design by Burberry has all the sophistication and allure of stilettos but thanks to the high platform and ankle straps, the stairs in your office building will be less daunting. This pair will get you so much mileage because you’ll be able to wear them with all of your wide leg pants and trousers! Simply add a signature black tote with gold hardware and you’ll be all set. The price is a bit steep though, so if you rather not spend your whole shoe budget on them, we can help with an amazing steal below!

Steve Madden “CRITIKAL” Buckled Sandals

HOT DEAL: Use promo code “SMSPRING15” to get 15% OFF + Free Shipping on your order of $75 or more! Offer valid until 06/30/12.

How amazing is this pair by Steve Madden for only a fraction of the price? They have the same details, with just a few modifications: silver vs. gold hardware and a slightly shorter heel. But other than that they are almost identical! Upon closer look, I think a pencil skirt and a white blouse would look fantastic with these. Finish the outfit with a handbag similar to Stella McCartney’s Falabella, and keep the rest of your accessories modern and minimal: perhaps add a set of silver bangles and that’s it. More great news? They are also available in cognac and white leather.

You gotta admire Giuseppe Zanotti for his fearless approach to designing shoes. Take these colorful colorblock wedge sandals for instance. These look like they belong into a kid’s room rather than on the feet of a grown woman and even though I can’t think of too many outfit options to pair these with it’s still a very fun-looking shoe and probably would work well with a monochrome look at an event where drinking alcohol excessively is a socially accepted pastime (e.g. a Bachelorette party). But would I ever spend $695 for a pair of designer heels that look like LEGO? Nope.

UPDATE: This post has been updated on April 18, 2012. Scroll down to see the new add.

I’m a big fan of Stella McCartney! Very much like with Prada and Miu Miu I might not approve of EVERYTHING that is shown on the runways, but when I find myself liking something from these designers chances are high I really, really LOVE it. Case in point: Stella’s “Maia” cork wedge from last year. Despite the remote resemblance of Birkenstock shoes I am still highly attracted to this wedge. Also, how genius is the pink lining? It’s small details like these that can turn a good shoe into a truly great one. What’s not so great about it? Oh yeah, I forgot… the steep price of $735. Also the fact that it’s sold out.

BCBgeneration “Crespo” Wedge Sandals

Thanks to BCBGeneration, we can now rock our own Stella McCartney wedges for a fraction of the price. Their “Crespo” wedge sandal is an almost identical copy of the “Maia” even though I wish it had the same hot pink lining as the original. But at $71.99 I am not one to complain. Available in gold, stone, black/white and light peach (shown below).
