For the past 2 weeks, weather has been more than good here. Spring has finally sprung. Which also means it’s time to get out all those flirty maxi dresses, spice them up with a few statement accessories, put on some high heel platforms so your dress won’t be dragging on the floor and voilà you have a perfectly stylish maxi look à la Kylie Minogue. I love how Kylie styled her blush tiered maxi dress with the tan wide waist belt and matching tassel shoulder bag. So fab!

While doing my daily web browsing I discovered this beautiful draped dress at GoJane and decided I would do a budget look around it. It’s a very matchy-matchy, super girly approach, but I really like the femininity and delicacy of the outfit. The whole look would cost you a very fair $126.70, but if you’re fast, you can use coupon code “NEWYEAR35A” to take a whopping 35% OFF (that cuts the price by $44.35 down to a yay-worthy $82.35)! But you gotta be quick, the code is due to expire today.

Miu Miu‘s Spring 2010 collection had cute written all over it. Remember all those exaggerated satin platform mary janes with adorable prints like cats, sparrows or flowers on it? I must admit it has taken me a while to warm up to this collection, but that’s often the case with me and Miuccia Prada’s designs. I like how she keeps trialling my aesthetics comfort zone.

Not Too Coy “Casanova-Z” Platform Sandals
UPDATE (12/18/2010): I’m pretty sure Not Too Coy‘s “Casanova-Z” platforms are just a rebranded version of Mojo Moxy’s “Catty” sandals because they’re dead-on identical with the same prints and colors except Not Too Coy has made an additional black satin version which I prefer over those floral prints.

Mojo Moxy “Catty” Ankle-Strap Sandals
OK, Mojo Moxy, we have to talk. Like seriously. How could you have gone so far to make an almost identical Miu Miu copy but then mess up the most important part of this shoe? The sparrow print. If you didn’t want to be an obvious copycat, why didn’t you just pick a different animal print instead of putting those ugly watercolor flowers on it? It totally ruins an otherwise perfectly perfect Miu Miu alternative. Shame on you! Do it right or don’t do it at all. Available in grey, brown and pink floral satin.

I’ve come to know Alice + Olivia as an upper class knockoff brand. Each season the designer duo gets inspired by ultra high-end labels such as Balmain, Lanvin & Nina Ricci for example. Then mass retailers get inspired by Alice + Olivia designs and knock them off as well. The circle of (fashion) life I guess. This dress however appears to be an original design. It’s a super flirty frock with a bit of a nautical edge to it. Love the dress, hate the price!

LuLu*s Summer at the Hamptons Dress
Seriously, can LuLu*s get any better? God, I just adore their dupe of the Alice + Olivia dress. It’s almost identical! And the $55 price tag is absolutely fantastic! I’ve seen this dress sell out once already, so if you like it, make sure to buy it soon. It’s available in either black/rose (pictured) or taupe/white.

A trench coat is one of those items of clothing that every woman should have in her closet. Various permutations appear on the fashion scene each season and it just never seems to go out of style. I think Burberry Prorsum put out one of the best trenches of the season in their Spring 2010 show. The coat is undeniably sweet with those draped/knotted shoulders and girly color (they call it “Frosted Pink”), but the black lacquered buttons keep it a little bit edgy. Sadly, at $2,595, I think we can safely say I’ll never own this coat.

Lipsy Ruched Shoulder Mac
I have to tell you, I’m sort-of OK with not owning the Burberry trench above if it means that I can nab this Lipsy knock-off which is available at ASOS. Literally thousands of dollars cheaper but with that same lovely charm, this coat is sure to win you tons of compliments. Lipsy really nailed those knotted shoulders and I think I may actually like their pinkish/peach color just a smidge more than Burberry’s cupcake-pink. I picture this being worn with a fluttery, chiffon mini skirt and black leather rocker heels.
