So who would’ve thought polka dots could be that sexy? Apparently, Stella McCartney did, that’s why she gave us plenty of beautiful fitted dresses with sheer polka dot sleeves for Fall 2011. I love the risqué character of the sheer inlays combined with the playfulness of the polka dots. How friggin’ hot does Kate Winslet look in that dress? But whoah, more than $2k for that bit of dress? Sorry hun, I’m afraid that ain’t quite my price league.

I would’ve have loved if this Stella McCartney look-a-like by Rare would be a bit longer, but at $80 I won’t complain. Same look but huge price difference!

Miuccia Prada really made me fall in love with polka dots through her awesome, super girly Miu Miu S/S 2011 collection. While I can’t afford the Miu Miu heels, I have to stock up on what’s in my price league instead and these adorable polka dot pumps by Ivanka Trump certainly fall into latter category. It’s been a while since I’ve last featured a non-platform shoe; or a simple design for that matter. These are so charming and feminine! To avoid the vintage trap (which, for me, means looking too 50′s housewife-ish), I’d pair them with modern pieces such as a skinny jean, red cardigan and bold statement jewelry.

I think I’ve already said that I’m not too much of a vintage fashion fan or am super smitten with 50′s pin up fashion, but these enchanting polka dot espadrille sandals by GUESS worked their magic on me and made me fall head over heels for them. I love the vibrant red polka dot fabric upper, the patent crossover straps and the espadrille platform makes them oh-so summery.

Just because you can’t wear your coziest sweats or most broken in denim to the office does not mean you can’t be comfortable and equally as cute. All of our 6 featured dresses have universally flattering waistlines and whether you choose a color (loving the bright blue) or basic black, you’ll look anything but basic.
If you’re unsure about going sleeveless, remember the unwritten rule (unless of course it actually is written somewhere and states otherwise): If a female supervisor is going tasefully sleeveless then you can confidently take the plunge, too. The prices range from $98 to $128 and that’s great because not only will you get work wear out of them for years to come, but you can also add some accessories and wear them on the weekends to social functions.
