Does anyone remember when glitter and 5 inch heels were strictly relegated to “Ladies of the Night”; nor would one be caught dead outside of a strip club in anything with these features? Well, I sure do! I’m trying to recollect when the changeover happened and by whom. But until I can recall the exact shoe that went mainstream with a 5 inch glitterati heel, I’ll just enjoy this quite sensible (yet quite expensive), peep-toe pump by the respectable Jimmy Choo.

The wedge is such a fabulous invention. Elongates the legs? Check. Adds height? Check. Looks great with dresses, pants, skirts and shorts? Check. The only thing that would make them absolutely perfect is if they didn’t hurt the feet. Oh wait, they don’t! I could spend hours comfortably walking in so many of my wedges, which makes me wish they went with every ensemble. These Miu Miu ones would make a quick and smooth transition into my wardrobe, except for the fact that they’re sold out. Well, I supposed I can’t have it all.

I’ve been in love with the Chloé brand for some time now. This may age me a bit, but I still have a few pieces that date back to the Stella McCartney era. Yes, for those of you born in the 80′s, Stella at one time was head designer for Chloé. But enough with Fashion History 101, let’s talk current events. How hot are these glove cork wedges? Real vs. Steal – Alexander McQueen Studded Platform Booties

It’s quite rare to find a designer who does not only great clothes, but also great shoes. The genius that is Alexander McQueen certainly belongs into this category. I always look forward to what he’s coming up with season after season.

His shoe designs are sometimes crazy, sometimes painfully cute or edgy or just badass like these grommet slingback booties below. But they are always unique. There is ONE thing that bugs me about his shoes though: the PRICE, of course! Despite being on sale, you’d still have to shell out more than $600 to own these kickass heels. Sadly, this is no option for me.

So these Steve Madden leopard platforms are total man repellers, I get that. They don’t get the leopard trend or the extreme platform thing. But who cares what your boyf says about your shoes as long as you’re in love with your footwear? Whatever, moving on… these booties strongly remind me of Jeffrey Campbell’s “Lita” who was inspired by Charles Anastase himself, only I like the Steve Maddens better because imo they have a better arch and I’m also quite into the buckle on the front. Yes, they’re a little pricey, but if the run on the JC Litas was any indication I’m quite sure these will go just as fast, even at $99.98.
