Real vs. Steal – Mulberry Oversized Alexa Leather Bag

A good friend of mine recently bought a Mulberry Bayswater (a gift to herself on her birthday) and for a week straight everyone oohed and ahhed over it at the office. It is a spectacular bag, to be sure, but I think this new Mulberry takes the cake: the Alexa – a slouchier, more casual version of the Bayswater named after British style export Alexa Chung who is a true devotee of the Mulberry brand. If you haven’t heard tell of this bag yet, you will. Speculated to be the “It” bag of the moment, the Alexa sold out instantaneously on NET-A-PORTER after being added last week. Restocks are supposed to follow soon, but even still, this beautiful creation is way out of my sad little budget.

A couple of months back we did a post on Camilla Belle’s gorgeous Max Azria Silk mini dress, but at the time we didn’t have a steal version for you lovely folks. I gushed over the color and the shape, the ruffle, the slit, and how perfect it all was for summer. One thing not so worship-worthy was and is the price. Also unfortunate is the fact that the dress is sold out. No wonder, really, considering how, well belle Miss Belle looks wearing it.

I know summer may be close to being over, but I can’t oppose diving into this summery blue Haute Hippie dress! I love the ruffles as it makes the look ultra feminine. Plus a plunging neckline and a high split really add up the sex appeal! There is nothing more romantic than lace! Especially red lace to vamp up the sexiness! Alexa Chung looks STUNNING in this Erdem Margot Lace dress and I honestly don’t think anyone can work it the way she did on the NET-A-PORTER spring issue. I also love how Michelle Williams paired the dress with an animal print pump to give some good contrast! Yet, priced at $2615 this might break the bank for some (well, probably most) of us, so below is a good alternative!
