My favorite Prada pieces are the kind that are classic for years to come, so this pair of wedges can slide right into the “for keeps” pile. Perfect for the working girl or the one on the go and available in 2 colors – or rather neutrals!

Prada should call ALDO and get their shoes back. Oh wait, those weren’t ripped right off the designer shelves? Obviously not, since we devote our days here to giving you the look for less! Prada’s peep toe wedges are I-DEN-TI-CAL (caps and dashes for emphasis) to the Aldo Kupiec wedges, with a price that will allow you to buy 15 pairs for the price of one.

Hmmm. I have a confession: these Elizabeth and James Valley Soft Cuff Booties are not really my cup of tea. But I’m sure there are ladies out there, who like JLo, would love nothing more than to own a pair. While they are not overly pricey, unfortunately, they are totally sold out. I’m sure those photos of Jennifer Lopez in them had nothing to do with that…

Rosegold “Sara” Lace-Up Booties
If you’re on the hunt for a supple grey suede bootie like the Elizabeth and James version, we’ve spotted a pair that is very similar, and still very available. These “Sara” Lace-Up Booties by Rosegold have that same lace-up detail and foldover cuff, but at $151.22, they’re less than half the price of J. Lo’s faves.

Let the sun shine! That’s exactly what Diane Kruger did 10 months ago at the Berlin photocall for Inglourious Basterds. Her itsy bitsy (that’s my speak for super short) dress by Louis Vuitton featured sailor-like buttons, side pockets and a bow across the chest which playfully complimented the color and cut. Though her outfit was accessorized with earrings, a watch and open toe shoes, they were all subdued to allow the dress to shine, almost literally, on its own.

Mary-Kate Olsen is quite the trendsetter. A few weeks after being spotted on MK’s feet, Stella McCartney‘s mesh sandals hit the digital shelves of NET-A-PORTER, but sold out there super fast. If you are craving the real deal, you can still find them on Stella’s website or read on and let me show you some recession-proof alternatives.

Mary-Kate Olsen Loves Stella McCartney
At the beginning of 2009, Mary-Kate Olsen was having an obsession with Stella McCartney’s mesh sandals from the Spring 2009 collection. She was wearing them to various events and when being out and about before finally moving on to another pair of lustworthy heels which she could wear to death.

Martinez Valero “Cleo” Sandals
UPDATE (05/12/2010): Yay! Finally another Stella McCartney knockoff and this one’s absolutely fabulous I think. Martinez Valero did a great job with his “Cleo” sandals. They come in either black, nude or silver.

Bebe “Lizzy” Mesh Sandals
I always thought Steve Madden is the king of knockoffs, but after seeing so many knockoffs coming from Bebe latey, I have come to the conclusion that they deserve this title. Whenever I visit their website, new designer knockoffs have popped up just like these Stella McCartney knockoffs for example. Bebe’s “Lizzy” sandals come in 3 different colors and retail for $139.

If there’s one thing you might have noticed about this blog, it’s the fact that we’re all slightly shoe obsessed here. Sometimes I feel a bit guilty for this shoe overload, but well, we can’t really help it, so I’m afraid you’ll have to put up with it. Of course there are tons of other stylish things in the fashion world worth writing about and one of these are bags! I know we have a few bag enthusiasts lurking on this blog & hoping for more bag coverage here; as a matter of fact bags are the second most often requested items on InTheirCloset. One of these requests was made by Sara who wanted us to feature nude, affordable bags. Here you go, Sara, we hope you like our picks:

Cork heels seem so retro and yet so of-the-moment, don’t they? Exhibit A, these “Gaynor” heels by Brian Atwood. I’m a big fan of Brian Atwood, but these cork heels are especially amazing. The cork lends a casual spring-time feel while the black patent leather gives them a festive aura. Guaranteed to win you lots of compliments, these shoes are a must have. Oh, but what’s that? They’re upwards of $600 AND sold out? Well then why not try…

What I love about Eva Longoria is that she’s not one to shy away from color. Also because she can make a simple $150 frock look absolutely luxe. Yes, believe it, this hot pink sheath dress costs less than $150! Eva mastered the uptown chic to perfection and usually sticks with trusted red carpet designers for public events, that’s why I never expected her to wear such accesible fashion. Can’t say I don’t love it though!

This is a first for us, guys. A feature on Christian Louboutin and it’s not about a pair of shoes! I’m going to argue, however, that his petal clutch bag is just as covet-worthy. A perfect match for Louboutin’s Mount Street heels (from 2009), this lovely, etherial clutch which is available in black
or blush
will set you back about as much, which is to say more than a cool grand. As lovely as this bag is, I have to ask: who has that much to spend on a purse?

Nine West “Wenda” Feather Clutch
Enter from stage left, the Nine West Feather Clutch. Clearly, Nine West was more than a little inspired by the Christian Louboutin petal bag – and that’s good news for us! Everything about this bag is deliciously romantic and I love how it has an old Hollywood/glamour thing going on. The clutch is also available in grey and ivory and look at that price: $59! I’m picking one up now. Available in black, grey and ivory.

These buckled ankle boots, also known as the “creeper” boots, were part of Phi‘s Fall 2009 collection and are available to buy at NET-A-PORTER for the hefty price of $995. As with all extreme, badass boots these have too become extremely popular with fashion connoisseurs around the globe and can now be found on the fabulous feet of trendsetting stylists, editors and socialites as recently spotted by Jak&Jil.

Jeffrey Campbell “Whip” Platform Ankle Boots
UPDATE (10/08/2009): Solestruck now stocks an all-black version of the “Whip-2″ creeper boots.
Now look at these buckled boots by Jeffrey Campbell. I know the cheetah/leopard print on the front may look confusing first, but if you look at the shape, heel and details you will recognize them as an almost identical copy of the Phi booties above. It seems as if JC already incorporated the animal print trend for coming spring into these boots (see Alexander Wang Spring 2010). I must admit that I’m tempted, but not completely sold on the cheetah print. What do you think of these boots? Fierce or fugly? … Oh, and did you know the alias name of the JCs is “creeper“, too? Yeah, not obvious at all.

I’m not a slides person by default because I need arch support in my shoes and really can’t stand it when my heels dangle in the air. However, when I first laid my eyes on these colorful cabachon slides by Miu Miu I couldn’t help but be in total awe. The embellishments are just too cute!

Carlos by Carlos Santana “Romantica” Sandals
These Carlos by Carlos Santana sandals may have a few differences (e.g. they’re not quite as colorful as the Miu Mius, made of suede + slingback version), but overall they are still a fantastic alternative if you are trying to save some cash. Available in black or red suede.

Nine West also has a great look-a-like option. The gemstones are a bit dull and dark which I find a bit sad, but the shape is almost identical. Available in either black or tan (with turquoise stones).

Vince Camuto “Emily” High Heel Sandals
If the above options didn’t cut it for you, maybe you’ll find yourself falling for these Miu Miu inspired ankle strap sandals by Vince Camuto. I really like the embellishments on these even though they could’ve been a bit more colorful like the originals. Available in black, dark brown and tan.
