A simple summertime wedge is sometimes all a girl needs to be happy. Now what’s shocking is that this simple wedge is by Christian Louboutin – the Liberace of shoemakers! No crazy 7 inch wedge. No crazy accouterments. Just a nice pinkish/mauve patent leather shoe. If only one could “simply” find $595 to pay for this much simplicity. But oh well, how do the French say – c’est la vie!

Now let me introduce you to the Robin Hood of the shoe world, Mr. Steve Madden. Bringing (and copying) designer heels for less and giving them to the poor (yet oh-so-fab) people! Once again, he doesn’t disappoint with his “WISSPER” slingback wedge. The only truly detectable difference is the thicker slingback strap and buckle. It seems that every celebrity at one point or another is seen flaunting around in glamorous Louboutins. Whether it’s the sophisticated high heel or a classic flat, Christian Louboutin has become a staple in the closets of the A-listers. The “Pigalle Plato” Platform Pumps are no different as the design is impeccably exhibited with versatility, in an uptown or downtown manner. So I think this is the first time, after more than 3 years of writing this blog, that I feature a sneaker here on In Their Closet. Of course, it couldn’t be just any ordinary sneaker for this occasion, no, it had to be a “fashion sneaker” naturally, the most popular one being the “Bekket” velcro sneaker by Madame Isabel Marant at this time. Personally, I both like and hate them; I’ve never been too fond of sporty looking shoes, but these exude that cool kid vibe and how clever is the hidden built-in wedge? Genius.
