Chances are you’re already pretty familiar with these double-strapped ribbon tie ballerina flats by Miu Miu because these ballerinas are the “It shoe” of the summer and the latest shoe trend to take over our fashion feeds. As you can see below some of our favorite bloggers and IGers have already been prancing the streets in those cute and quirky ballet flats channeling their inner prima ballerina. I must admit I haven’t been actively following Miu Miu’s collections for a while now, but these shoes made me fall in love with Miuccia Prada’s younger fashion line all over again. I just love how the belted straps toughen up the otherwise overly sweet ballerina design thus giving them an edgy and modern vibe while at the same time still maintaining a classic and feminine look. Also, how cool is the idea of wearing them with mismatched ribbon laces? Pure genius and so refreshingly new and creative! Naturally, we’ve gotten quite a few requests to find budget-friendly alternatives for these much sought after Miu Miu flats because a) these babies cost a whopping $620 now: $670 and b) the popular versions like the nude one for example are basically sold out everywhere anyway. Ergo: challenge accepted!

My current favorite Miu Miu dupe are these adorable lace-up flats I found at Romwe because they are spot-on compared to the real deal and also super budget-friendly with a price of just $29.99. They come in black, nude and baby pink PU leather and most sizes are still available (yay!), so get them while they’re still in stock!

Steve Madden “Meow” Ribbon Tie Ballerina Flats

Last but not least are these lace-up flats by Steve Madden. They don’t have the buckled front straps like the real deal and thus are more of an “inspired by Miu Miu“-kind, but they do come with two sets of interchangeable ribbon laces, so the overall look is still very much Miu Miu without them being a blatant copy. Also how buttery soft does the blush leather look like here? Amazing for $46.99 (sale price!), no? Other available color options include black and silver metallic.

Christmas is right around the corner and today I was in such a festive mood that I decided to create a wintery budget look to honor the coldest of seasons. But it wasn’t until I was finished and very proud of my creation that I noticed this black-white-blush winter outfit might not be exactly weatherproof for colder climates (hello, backless loafers and sheer mesh body!). So instead of ditching the whole look and starting all over again, I simply decided to rename the outfit theme from “Winter Wonderland” to “Californian Winter Wonderland”. Pure genius, I know. But anyways: Happy Holidays, everyone! I hope you will be able to enjoy a relaxed and joyful Christmas with all your loved ones! And now step away from your computer and treat yourself to a Christmas cookie or two.

Real vs. Steal – Cartier Love Bracelet

by Irina on September 14, 2016

Update: This post has been updated on September 14, 2016. Scroll down to see the new add.

If you have an Instagram account, follow fashion bloggers or just love jewelry in general, then I’m sure you’re well aware of Cartier‘s famous “Love” bracelet. Designed by Aldo Cipullo in 1969, the bracelet quickly became popular for its intentional resemblance in function to medieval chastity belts because of its extraordinary locking mechanism. Unlike traditional bracelets, the “Love” bracelet is designed to be opened only by using a special screwdriver that is supplied with every bracelet. The screwdriver is also available in the form of a necklace, allowing the bracelet to be “locked” onto one person, while the “key” is kept around the neck of another, as a symbol for their commitment to their relationship. Luckily, the “Love” bracelet can be opened with any standard slotted screwdriver (just in case things don’t work out with your better half, I guess ūüėČ). Although slightly confining, I think it’s a romantic gesture and a very beautiful sign of love, but most of all is it a very expensive one at $6.600 for the 18K yellow gold version. There’s definitely a lot of commitment neccessary for such a splurge purchase.
