Knotted

Jimmy Choo can do no wrong, so let’s discuss everything that is right about these golden suede wedges. The straw wedge and suede straps are an awesome contrast to one another, both in color and texture. The knotted detail of the front of the shoe is extremely flatterring on toes of all shapes and sizes because it gives just a peep show (don’t pretend like you don’t know toes come in all different varieties). The ankle strap lends this otherwise casual shoe a bit of glam and sophistication. A perfect 10 for Jimmy Choo, but really did anyone expect less?

Office “WHAT A WAY TO GO” Wedges

These great alternative wedges by Office are not an exact match, but they accomplish everything we loved about the originals. Straw wedge and suede-esque straps? Check. Knotted detail? Check. Ankle strap? Check. Well, ladies (and gents if you’re out there) this steal has been approved for purchase!

Ever seen a shoe being described as rock ‘n roll meets summer? The combination does sound a bit odd, but I think this perfectly sums up these lovely studded wedges by Sergio Zelcer. The gold studs on the platform will play up your inner rockstar while the knotted front and the wedge make these beauties ideal candidates for wearing in the summer. Don’t think black shoes will work with your summer wardrobe? They also come in bone and buttery brown as well.

A trench coat is one of those items of clothing that every woman should have in her closet. Various permutations appear on the fashion scene each season and it just never seems to go out of style. I think Burberry Prorsum put out one of the best trenches of the season in their Spring 2010 show. The coat is undeniably sweet with those draped/knotted shoulders and girly color (they call it “Frosted Pink”), but the black lacquered buttons keep it a little bit edgy. Sadly, at $2,595, I think we can safely say I’ll never own this coat.

Lipsy Ruched Shoulder Mac

I have to tell you, I’m sort-of OK with not owning the Burberry trench above if it means that I can nab this Lipsy knock-off which is available at ASOS. Literally thousands of dollars cheaper but with that same lovely charm, this coat is sure to win you tons of compliments. Lipsy really nailed those knotted shoulders and I think I may actually like their pinkish/peach color just a smidge more than Burberry’s cupcake-pink. I picture this being worn with a fluttery, chiffon mini skirt and black leather rocker heels.
