I love Black Halo dresses but who doesn’t? They are so elegant, so chic and timeless – great investment pieces! Unfortunately not everyone can invest $349 in a dress because they have silly stuff to pay like rent and food and mortgages. However, even at these prices Black Halo creations sell like hot cakes.

Celebrities Love Black Halo
Black Halo has always been very popular among celebrities, but this ruffled pencil dress was a must-have. I seriously lost count on how many celebrities have already been spotted in this dress. Taraji P. Henson was the first to sport one in black, then came Debra Messing and from then on the rest followed.

If you like Black Halo’s sheath dress, but can’t spend $300+ on a dress, try this knockoff version by ChicStar. The Black Halo knockoff dress comes in either blue or black and would make a great wear-to-work dress, don’t you think?

I am currently totally hooked on maxi dresses. LOVE. LOVE. LOVE them! It was just recently that I ordered a beautiful emerald green maxi dress from Dorothy Perkins and when it arrived and I tried it on, it was an almost magical moment. The material was so soft and flowy, the color utterly flattering against my olive skin tone and the twisted front give it some needed sexiness. Now I’m spying on the cobalt blue version waiting for it to go on sale and in the meantime decided it’s time to get a white maxi dress for when my summer tan kicks in. What I noticed during my maxi dress research is that Rachel Pally makes some really gorgeous ones. Most of them have a Grecian-like design and hence look really stunning on almost any body type. Just look at this sexy classic black maxi dress. Lovely, isn’t it? But you have to check out the price! And I’m talking SALE price here!

P.S.: Also available in faded orange at Rachel Pally.
ASOS Padded Keyhole Front Grecian Maxi Dress
While this maxi dress by ASOS may not be a dupe it still gives you pretty much the same look but for less than a third of the original’s (sale!) price.

ASOS Gold Bar Keyhole Maxi Dress
If you’re not totally sold on the first version, how about this second ASOS alternative which comes in a beautiful indigo blue. It’s a little bit pricier than the first one, but the vibrant color is totally worth the markup. And it’s still less than 50% of the Rachel Pally dress.

Black Halo is not the most creative brand when it comes to innovative design. All they seem to do every season is to either change the hemline, color or fabric on their best selling dresses and voilà a new collection is born. Their formula works however! Good thing their collection consists of classic, timeless designs, so lack of creativity is subsidiary and hence can be forgiven.

LuLu’s Jane Siegel Dress
Try this Black Halo knockoff by LuLu*s if you are looking for a similar dress. As you can see it’s almost a 1:1 copy and the price is just awesome at $33 (this is less than 1/10 of the original’s price). Not too shabby for a knockoff, right? This dress could be one of your key items this fall and you can either dress it up or tone it down with a few simple accessories.
