Just in case you lived under a rock for the last few months – thigh high boots are BIG this fall. Designers like Stella McCartney, Rodarte, Louis Vuitton, Prada, Chloé and many, many more have included over-the-knee footwear into their Fall 2009 collection. Celebrities such as Victoria Beckham or Shakira are already incorporating this trend into their wardrobes and I’ve seen a few editorials showing this controversial footwear as well. They may not be to everyone’s taste, but whether you like it or not: this is not the last time you’ll see thigh-high boots this fall.

UPDATE (09/14/2010): Just came across another fabulous alternative by Bebe.

Jeffrey Campbell “Issue” Over-the-knee Boots
Leave it to Jeffrey Campbell to adapt this new, daring trend first and make it available to women without a $2000 shoe budget. His Stella McCartney inspired perforated over-the-knee boots may not fully live up to the real deal, but they’re still a fabulous alternative for a fraction of the original’s price. If only they would’ve kept the metal cap platform, but at that price I guess you just can’t have it all. Also available in taupe/grey leather and black suede.

I know, I know. It’s spring. You’re probably totally jonesing to trade your boots in for sandals. But maybe not just yet. ‘Cause we have two boot deals that are almost impossible to resist. First up: the I98020 Thigh-High Buckled Boot by Giuseppe Zanotti. You know the thigh-high boot trend is going to be just as hot this fall, don’t you? So why not get a sexy flat pair to go with your shorts/leggings/skinnies/minis for fall/winter 2010? These Zanottis were originally $1.090, and they’re now half-price. Sure, it’s a little steep, but I’ll bet you’d have these babies for the rest of your life—that’s a cost-per-wear figure that justifies the investment.

Topshop “DOLLIE” Over Knee Buckle Boots
UPDATE (09/13/2010): Just in time for Fall Topshop brings us another Zanotti OTK boots alternative in a rich black suede. Love these! They’re also available in taupe suede
if you prefer a lighter color for your boots.

Jeffrey Campbell “Lara” Above the Knee Boots
Maybe even the cost-per-wear of the Zanotti boot isn’t enough to legitimize a half a grand on a boot. Fair enough. Snap up the lovely “Lara” Above the Knee Boot by Jeffrey Campbell instead. Mmmm, they’re tall. They’re strapped and buckled. In sum, they. Are. HOT! I just cannot fathom wearing these and not being the envy of all the women1and men—in a 50-yard radius. And $190, for a thigh-high, 100% leather boot? I’m sold.

This fall is going to be all about Burberry. Seriously. The Fall/Winter 2010 Burberry Prorsum collection was so good, it’s going to be legendary. And these Burberry Prorsum Leather Ankle Boots are likely to reach cult status right along with it. For tough-girl chic, is there anything better? A combat boot with a heel? Yeah, that’s how I’d kit out my battalion of butt-kickin’, boot-stompin’ badass babes.

If you’re ready to enlist in the military…trend…but Burberry is a bit out of your league, then grab these “Boot Camp” Ankle Boots from Jeffrey Campbell instead. They have the same combat-boot-with-a-kick, they’re well under two bills, and they’re available in black leather or camouflage canvas. Hoowah!

This is only the second time we’re featuring Charles Anastase shoes on InTheirCloset, but judging from all the fashion/style blogs posting love letters and odes to the designer, it seems like he’s gotten himself quite a big following of fashionable style bloggers who’d do anything to get their hands on a pair of his crazy platform shoes. The ones you see below are called “Dungeon Boots” and they’re from Anastase’s Fall/Winter 2009 collection. Sorry, I wasn’t able to find a better picture of them, but you can still see these are some badass, sky-high platforms. I’m not sure about the price or where to get them, but they’re probably way too expensive and too hard to get hold of anyway.

Jeffrey Campbell “Lita” Lace-Up Boots
Lucky for us Jeffrey Campbell seems to be an Anastase fan as well. Check out “Lita” from JC’s F/W 2010 collection. Isn’t she pretty? She totally looks like Anastase’s clean-cut little sister. Which I think I prefer actually. The platform on the Anastase boots is bordering on the fetish/stripper shoes side while JC’s version is high, but not obscenely so. Order these in an array of different colors and finishes. Quickly, because these are destined to sell out in no time.

I’m crushing hard on animal print right now. Not sure why because I don’t own anything with animal print on it and I never used to like it, but for some reason that has changed overnight! I wouldn’t go cheetah head-to-toe, but a printed scarf or a pair of shoes I approve. These platform wedges by Jeffrey Campbell just won’t go out of my mind. The style is very reminiscient of a pair of Dolce & Gabbana wedges, but this isn’t why I’m so crazy about them. I love the cheetah print! I picture these with a ton of outfits in my head already. Bonus: they are currently on sale! Decisions, decisions…
