These amazing platforms are from Charles Anastase‘s S/S 2009 show but I guess I’m a little behind the curve because I only just discovered them. While I can’t imagine anyone actually wearing them (how did the models not break their necks strutting down the runway?) I do find them aesthetically pleasing. If only that heel was just a little shorter and I think we would have ourselves a winner.

UPDATE (08/05/2010): If you missed out on the Dany platforms, here’s your second chance to get almost identical knockoffs by Jeffrey Campbell. Currently only available in cheetah, but as you might know animal print will be HUGE this fall, so if you dig it, why not grab a pair?

Jessica Simpson “Dany” Platform Sandals
I was SO happy to find these Jessica Simpson “Dany” platform sandals. They are everything the originals are but in a much more digestible form. A slightly lower heel makes them more wearable and a $98 price tag means you don’t have to think twice about bringing these bad-boys home.

Acne‘s Atacoma wedges have been lusted after and obsessed over countless times after Alexa Chung has sported a pair on her now cancelled MTV show. They sold out as soon as they hit the virtual shelves of several online shops, have been restocked again, then sold out again. If you are a EU size 37 you can still get them for a steep $620 (€430) at MyTheresa. Cheap, I know!

While these wedges by Jeffrey Campbell are not as high as the Atacomas and also don’t have the silver platform, overall they are still a good and affordable alternative.

This fall is going to be all about Burberry. Seriously. The Fall/Winter 2010 Burberry Prorsum collection was so good, it’s going to be legendary. And these Burberry Prorsum Leather Ankle Boots are likely to reach cult status right along with it. For tough-girl chic, is there anything better? A combat boot with a heel? Yeah, that’s how I’d kit out my battalion of butt-kickin’, boot-stompin’ badass babes.

This is only the second time we’re featuring Charles Anastase shoes on InTheirCloset, but judging from all the fashion/style blogs posting love letters and odes to the designer, it seems like he’s gotten himself quite a big following of fashionable style bloggers who’d do anything to get their hands on a pair of his crazy platform shoes. The ones you see below are called “Dungeon Boots” and they’re from Anastase’s Fall/Winter 2009 collection. Sorry, I wasn’t able to find a better picture of them, but you can still see these are some badass, sky-high platforms. I’m not sure about the price or where to get them, but they’re probably way too expensive and too hard to get hold of anyway.

Jeffrey Campbell “Lita” Lace-Up Boots
Lucky for us Jeffrey Campbell seems to be an Anastase fan as well. Check out “Lita” from JC’s F/W 2010 collection. Isn’t she pretty? She totally looks like Anastase’s clean-cut little sister. Which I think I prefer actually. The platform on the Anastase boots is bordering on the fetish/stripper shoes side while JC’s version is high, but not obscenely so. Pre-order these in either black or brown. Quickly, because these are destined to sell out in no time.

I’m crushing hard on animal print right now. Not sure why because I don’t own anything with animal print on it and I never used to like it, but for some reason that has changed overnight! I wouldn’t go cheetah head-to-toe, but a printed scarf or a pair of shoes I approve. These platform wedges by Jeffrey Campbell just won’t go out of my mind. The style is very reminiscient of a pair of Dolce & Gabbana wedges, but this isn’t why I’m so crazy about them. I love the cheetah print! I picture these with a ton of outfits in my head already. Bonus: they are currently on sale! Decisions, decisions…

Stella McCartney is one of those designers that has a cult following. Those who are fashionably loyal to her are fiercely loyal. If you’re one of those people, then what better way to wear your heart on your feet than to nab a design that Stella herself wears? The shoes have so many great qualities, but number one in my mind is that cork matches everything, making them a go-to in any closet.

Jeffrey Campbell Cork Suede Buckle Sandals
Jeffrey Campbell brings us a true steal. Not only is their cork wedge a great match at a better price, but it’s also partially environmentally friendly since cork is a sustainable material. Pair them with jeans, shorts, skirts and dresses for a casually cool summer ensemble.

For the last couple weeks I’ve had quite the passionate love affair with Givenchy. It really hit me out of nowhere because I remember being totally underwhelmed by the S/S 2010 collection first, but now I’m starting to warm up to the collection (minus the conehead hats, they’re still a big no). The footwear range of this collection was bold; Riccardo Tisci’s ultra-high chunky platform wedges certainly weren’t for the faint of heart. And while they’re not something I’m seeing myself rocking anytime soon, I still admire them for what they are: pieces of wearable art that is.

Joe’s Jeans “Lilly” Wedge Booties
Did you know Joe’s Jeans does footwear besides… jeans? Well, now you know and apparently they like getting inspired by high fashion brands as you can clearly see their “Lilly” wedge booties have quite a few Givenchy references. They basically just rounded the edges and called it a shoe. Also, do you happen to notice the almost twin-like similarities between the JC “Dippers” and these “Lilly” booties? Makes me wonder if they’re just a rebranded version of the JCs but with a higher price tag?!

Trouve “Trina” Wedge Sandals
Another great alternative to the real Givenchys are these budget-friendly wedges by Trouve. They’ve been tamed in terms of look and are not as extreme as the Givenchys, but this makes them a lot more wear- and manageable. Available in black or nude.

ALDO “Gersten” Sandal Bootie Wedges
Finally, let me present ALDO‘s take on the Givenchy wedges to you. The “Gersten”. The streamlined look and the lower platform makes this shoe probably the most wearable Givenchy knockoff out of the 4 and it’s also the cheapest Givenchy look-a-like at $100.

Miley Cyrus is not the first name coming to my mind when thinking about a stylish person. That’s mostly because every other time I see pictures of her she’s either wearing a skimpy stage outfit or denim cutoffs with a tank top and cowboy boots and well, let’s just say that this isn’t exactly my idea of a stylish person. But I recently stumbled upon these candid shots of Miley out & about in Toluca Lake doing her best French Chic look and I’m somewhat smitten with it. The songstress wore a striped Elizabeth and James pocket tee, a pair JET skinny jeans and yup, you guessed it right, a pair of so-hot-right-now Jeffrey Campbell “Charli” clogs. Her best accessory though? The arm candy aka boyf Liam Hemsworth. Yummy!

How gorgeous are these Dolce & Gabbana slingback wedges? Chances are you’ve probably seen them before – on the fabulous Rumi from Fashiontoast. I find it very easy to fall in love with these darlings. And this is exactly what happened to Rumi; she’s been heavily obsessed with these wedges and has worn them more than a dozen times with jeans, dress, over tights… well, basically with anything. Shortly after she debuted her new shoe obsession on her blog, we have been constantly flooded with requests to find a steal version of these; so, ladies and gentlemen (?), here you go…

UPDATE (06/23/2010): Good news, everyone! Solestruck finally has the JC “Mariel” wedges in stock. Most sizes sizes are still available, so you better hurry and order quickly before they sell out again.
Jeffrey Campbell and his team are paying close attention to the fashion blogosphere and they’re very well aware of the power and influence of our web 2.0 style icons. Hence I wasn’t overly surprised to find out JC came up with an almost identical Dolce & Gabbana knockoff called “Mariel”. These platform wedges are certainly going to sell out in no time, so head on over to Shopbop and get your pair before it’s too late.

Animal prints. They can be a dangerous thing for women; nothing spells C-R-A-Z-Y like too much print on your person or in your house. But sometimes you can’t blame a girl for not being able to get enough, because all that tiger, and zebra, and cheetah…oh my! There’s just something about it that makes you feel exotic and wild.
Animal Print Heels – Designer Edition
You know here at InTheirCloset, we love you ladies, and we want to help all of you put your best foot forward. Especially one shod in a Wang Alla wedge—the only exception to the one print, one piece rule. Since prints are quite potent, the easiest way to ensure sartorial success is to limit that zip of zebra to your shoes. So we’ve rounded up the leaders of the designer pack, for your inspiration and fascination…
