These amazing platforms are from Charles Anastase‘s S/S 2009 show but I guess I’m a little behind the curve because I only just discovered them. While I can’t imagine anyone actually wearing them (how did the models not break their necks strutting down the runway?) I do find them aesthetically pleasing. If only that heel was just a little shorter and I think we would have ourselves a winner.

I was SO happy to find these Jessica Simpson “Dany” platform sandals. They are everything the originals are but in a much more digestible form. A slightly lower heel makes them more wearable and a $98 price tag means you don’t have to think twice about bringing these bad-boys home.

While Alexander Wang‘s Fall 2009 collection didn’t impress me much in terms of clothes I must admit I am quite fond of these buckled pointy ankle boots which were also a part of this collection. The other shoe styles were a bit too masculine for me, but the “Hanne” boot had just the right amount of edginess and badass punk. Sadly, they are also quite pricey at more than $1.200 a pair.

I know summer is almost over when I find myself starting to look for shoes to wear in the fall. UPDATE (10/05/2009): Look at this knockoff version by Rosegold and try to spot the difference between this one and the Isabel Marant boots. These booties are as close as you can get to the original.However, a knockoff this great comes at a price: $285. Yup, that’s pretty expensive, but probably still at least a few hundred dollars cheaper than the original. If you have the cash, why not spend it on these awesome knockoffs?

Steve Madden seems to have sniffed a trend here as well and decided to make their own interpretation of the ankle booties. The heel of their booties is higher and brown instead of black, but everything else is pretty much identical. Comes also in brown suede.

Real vs. Steal – Christian Louboutin Supra Fifre Thigh-high Boots

Thigh-high boots are dangerous territory because they can easily look… well, wrong. Think cheap-y and stripperish! But let’s not make a hasty judgment here because over-the-knee boots can also look super hot and fabulous. Case in point? These Christian Louboutin OTK boots. The suede tones them down while the lacing detail gives them a Victorian feel. This is thigh-high boots done right, but oh, $1.995 for a pair? I think I’ll have to pass this time!
