Two more weeks until Valentine’s Day and while I’m not particularly excited about V-Day itself (all the single ladies!), I do like any opportunity that allows me to dress up and act all flirty about it. When dressing up, my personal motto is: “Drama, drama, drama!”, that’s why this black off-the-shoulder midi dress by Bardot with its body-con silhouette and the dramatic bell sleeves instantly caught my attention. I immediately started styling this LBD in my head and style-wise it felt like my mind ran in 100 different directions. There are a lot of ways to style this versatile dress and I decided to pick three for you to show: bold, romantic and just plain cute. So if you need some outfit inspiration for your own Valentine’s Day attire, feel free to check out my V-Day look suggestions and let me know whether you like them or not.

Update: This post has been updated on January 9, 2017. Scroll down to see the new add.

It’s been a while since we last featured a jewelry piece by Céline on this blog, so here you go: Céline’s knot bracelet which is available in various colors and sizes has made quite the round in the fashion blogosphere lately. The design strongly reminds me of Tiffany’s Love Knot Bangle with the biggest difference being that Céline’s version is left open in the back. I’m not sure what the retail price is for this bracelet, but pre-owned pieces start at approximately $400 which I think is quite the hefty price for a gold-plated brass bangle.

Our (now very extensive) Real vs. Steal post on Dior’s highly coveted “Mise En Dior” Tribal Earrings is easily one of our most read and searched for blog posts to date. Dior’s Tribal Earrings became so popular and so widely copied by now that I could probably start a designer dupe blog on Mise En Dior earrings alone. After the initial success of Dior‘s double pearl earring collection, they quickly released new colors, styles and variations based on the classic Mise En Dior earrings. One of them being the “Be Dior”, a beautiful double faux pearl earring with a gold tulip cap in either matte black or white. The minute I saw them, I was in love! But as you might have heard, Dior raised Mise En Dior prices from approx. $300 to whopping $700 after they noticed the huge success of their earrings. And as much as I love Dior, $700 for faux pearls and gold-plated brass? I don’t think so.

Jardin Double Pearl Lotus Earrings

So imagine my delight when I recently discovered these lovely Be Dior dupe earrings by Jardin. I made my order the minute I saw that steeply discounted price: only $14 (down from $69)! I actually even prefer Jardin’s shinier version as I think they look more feminine this way. Too bad I haven’t seen that these were available in both ivory and black prior to making my order, so I only managed to bag the black version, but I want the ivory one so badly as well! First world problems, huh? If you like what you see here, better snap them up quickly, I don’t think MyHabit is having too many of these in stock anymore and Bluefly is selling those for more than double the price.

I also found another Dior look for less option at Etsy. You can get these Be Dior look-alikes in both black and white for $25 combined. And if you prefer other colors, they offer 10 colors and 13 variations (matte or shiny). The matte green ones are my personal fave!

Fab Friday 5 – Celine Edition

by Irina on August 6, 2010

I love the idea of Fab Friday 5. All week long I want, I want, I want and then the next week starts and usually I want, I want, I want five new things so this feature is perfect (I’m pretty sure Irina, Vahni and Vanessa are all with me on that one). I initially tried to stick with a theme, but then thought, screw it, my taste is all over the place and that’s OK! There’s some color, some jewelry, some alcohol and some shoes. Here are a few of my favorite things from this week…

Fab Friday 5 - Celine Edition #001

The Breakdown:

  1. LOFT Flutter Silk Dress, $128 – I’ve been obsessed with this dress for the better part of a week. I LOVE how LOFT styled it up with a rugged brown belt. I plan to do the same with mine. Because I obviously have no will power. I planned on waiting for a sale but nope. Too weak.
  2. Baybreeze Cocktail, $5-15 – I thought about including food as one of my FF5 items, but forget it, it’s too hot to think about food. Let’s think about drinks. I mean it is Friday after all, and as they say, it’s always 5pm somewhere. I present the Baybreeze. A delicious, oh so summery drink with vodka, cranberry and pineapple juice. It’s my go-to summer drink.
  3. Anthropologie Higgledy-Piggledy Pencil Skirt, $148 – OK, I know it’s a bazillion degrees out right now, but pretend it’s a cool 55. Now picture yourself wearing this skirt. So cute, right? It probably tops my wish list at the moment and we all know that’s no small feat. I love the asymmetrical buttons. I want to wear this with a silky, flouncy blouse and deep purple tights.
  4. Silver Multi-Chain Shoulder Necklace Harness, $49.99 – I’m know I’m not exactly being cutting edge with this (these shoulder chains have been around since 2009 – duh) but I had to include this because I am currently lusting over body jewelry. I haven’t bought one yet but it’s only because I’m waiting for the perfect one to enter my life. Tick tock…
  5. J.Crew Tilly Satin Two-tone Platform Heelsls, $325 – J.Crew isn’t necessarily the first place I’d turn to when looking for a new pair of shoes, but I have to admit that I sat in front of my computer drooling over their Fall arrivals. It was hard to choose just one pair to feature here, but I just love these “Tilly” two-tone heels. They will look ah-mazing with colored, patterned tights. I pray for a sale. And now on to the next five!
