Enzo Angiolini

Every year I allow myself to splurge on one pair of boots. Because while I can totally handle super cheap summer shoes, having at least one pair of high quality winter boots is super important to me. These wedge boots by 7 For All Mankind sure meet the criteria of being high quality footwear. I love the mix of leather and suede and the wedge makes the heel height more mangageable. But $375? That indeed is a splurge!

Enzo Angiolini “Baki” Mid-Calf Wedge Boots

UPDATE (09/21/2011): Found a mid-calf boot version of the 7FAM Ora with a slightly less pointed toe coming from Enzo Angiolini. Available in black, brown and taupe leather/suede.

Nine West “Daley” Wedge Boots

So how about these boots by Nine West instead? Now $199 is still an investment, but I’d say it’s a reasonable price for a high quality boot. And you get the absolute same look for almost half the price! Available in black, brown and grey.

So you might already know about my love for all things Prada and if you’ve been following this blog for a while you’ll probably also know that I’m big, really BIG, on the leopard trend (which is still going strong these days). Hence my obsession with these leopard-printed Prada platforms shouldn’t come as a surprise to you. These heels are absolute head-turners and all what’s needed to make a monochrome outfit pop. Just look at Emmy Rossum rocking her Pradas with leather skinnies, a white blazer and a neon yellow purse. Doesn’t she look amazing? Now even if you were willing to spend a fortune on a pair of shoes, it’s too bad, but they’re long gone and all sold out.

Lady Gaga, Lady Gaga, Lady Gaga. I’m sorry, but that’s the first thing that comes to mind when I look at these Giuseppe Zanotti boots. You? Yes, no… not so much? Well, put it this way: these aren’t for everybody. For one thing, the heel height, I’m gonna guess, is about 6-7 inches! At 5’10″ I will be passing on these. Not that it matters, these height-be-damned booties are $1.250 and oh yeah fashionable monsters – SOLD OUT!

Enzo Angiolini “Filia” Zip Ankle Boots

Hello Enzo Angiolini! I’m really feeling these “Filia” ankle boots that mirror (in a reverse funhouse kinda way) the Zanotti boots. The heel height is definitely about 3-4 inches shorter. Constructed in suede and not what I’m sure is butter-like leather. Consolation prize? Available in grey & black for only $149! I don’t know about you, but this makes me wanna… just dance! ;-)

Does anyone remember when glitter and 5 inch heels were strictly relegated to “Ladies of the Night”; nor would one be caught dead outside of a strip club in anything with these features? Well, I sure do! I’m trying to recollect when the changeover happened and by whom. But until I can recall the exact shoe that went mainstream with a 5 inch glitterati heel, I’ll just enjoy this quite sensible (yet quite expensive), peep-toe pump by the respectable Jimmy Choo.

Looking at all these t-strap espadrille wedges which ALL look practically identical my assumption is that all of these are knockoffs of some designer heel I haven’t seen or heard of yet. Even though the priciest option here is $150 which compared to all those $800 designer shoes that are often featured here is still on the lower price spectrum I like how there’s still some deal to be had. You can save either 30%, 40% or, if you opt for the cheapest version, a whopping 70%! The look will be the same.

Black Rooster “Highpeak” Espadrille Wedges

P.S.: While this little post was waiting to get published, I happened to stumble upon yet another wedge that looks identical to the ones shown above. In terms of price, Black Rooster‘s Highpeak lies between N.Y.L.A. and Bucco though I’m 95% sure the Black Roosters are just a rebranded version of the N.Y.L.A.s or the other way round. Theser come in a range of beautiful colors including a super lovely blush, gold, black and cognac.
