Sometimes shoe designers have a look. You see their shoes and immediately can shout out the brand, whether or not you’ve recently viewed the collection. Though it makes a fun game, it’s particularly challenging to play if Giuseppe Zanotti is what’s in front of you. Each season the shoes are sexy and sophisticated, but constantly evolving. They never look too much like a season before. Take these sandals for example, fresh and new – it’s like your foot got all tangled up in a few belts, but in a cool way, obviously.

What I love most about the DVs is that they aren’t trying too hard. Sure, they take style cues from the big boys, but they add in their own twist like the great stud detail below. Real vs. Steal – Tory Burch Bradshaw Ankle Strap Sandals

Tory Burch always has some pretty killer shoes. I am particularly fond of this pair as it does not scream “TORY BURCH.” Usually her shoes are covered in the Tory Burch logo. so it’s nice to see a bit of a change. I’m also loving the natural tan color and and who doesn’t love an espadrille platform? The only thing I’m not too fond of is the price. Retailing at $350 I think we can do a little better…

I so cannot wait for the weather to warm up so I can stuff away all my boots and dig out all the summer shoes instead. After months of being hidden in wool socks my toes demand some fresh air! DV by Dolce Vita has a pair of ultra-fabulous open-toe high heel sandals that would go perfectly with anything in my spring/summer wardrobe. Now I just can’t decide which color I like more… your thoughts?

Heel of the Day – DV by Dolce Vita Sheldon Ankle Boots

So today I had a dentist appointment and figured since it’s only a short 3-minute walk over there I could do without my gloves and my wool cap (OK, truth be told; I was in a hurry and couldn’t find them… again). But as soon as I stepped out I regretted my decision almost instantly. OMG, it was so darn cold. The harsh wind was freezing my fingers to my face and even though it was only a very short distance it felt like a had to walk for hours to get to the dentist. An absolutely torturous experience! All I could think of is to get home asap and crawl under my cozy blanket with a hot chocolate. Brrrr!

And the moral of my story of weather-inappropritae dressing: Prepare for the cold! Because it will come, eventually. Get shoes that’ll keep you warm in this bitter cold. Shoes like these amazing shearling-lined ankle boots by DV by Dolce Vita for example. L.O.V.E.

Celebrity Look 4 Less – Leighton Meester in Céline

Most of us embrace the whole nude trend this year, but WHOA! Leighton Meester seems to be especially smitten with it. The actress was papped a few days ago arriving at the Gossip Girl set in a nude Céline shirt dress with matching nude ankle boots. To set off her neutral outfit Leighton added red Balenciaga shades and a cute vintage-y box bag, also by Céline. Casual, trendy and chic. I am starting to warm up to Leighton’s off-duty style.
