And we’re back to Chanel. Back to the now uber-famous and highly popular Chanel espadrilles, to be exact. We have already written about the black mesh pair and this time we’re showing you the just as lovely canvas version. And while I do think that they are really beautiful and would make a great pair of summer shoes, there’s absolutely no way I’d pay more than $500 for a pair of espadrilles! Not gonna happen, not even if they’re Chanel.

Reinventing denim is not an easy task, but somehow the fashion industry manages to come up with new trends and variations season after season. A few trends from the last couple years have been: distressed/destroyed, ombr√©, floral print and pastels for example. Star print has been quite popular lately as well (we have written about Current/Elliott‘s star printed denim shorts here). Last year they also released a super chic semi-sheer star-print skinny jean which I loved! The print instantly adds interest to the outfit and takes this jeans from plain ordinary to fashionably chic. But $220? Designer denim sure isn’t for everyone’s wallet.

InStyle’s July issue features some of the best shorts of the season, but they must not have seen this patriotic pair by Current/Elliott! Lucky Brand “Riley” Star-Print Frayed Shorts

Now that you’ve seen this pair by Lucky Brand, and have stars in your eyes, what will the rest of your outfit look like?¬†You’ve got so many great options! I’d suggest starting with a knit top or blouse¬†in a personally flattering shade of red, dark blue or gray and add accessories in your favorite metallic shade.¬†Maybe it’s an armful of silver bangles or perhaps some thin gold hoops? Either way, it’s best to select more understated pieces to keep the look elegant and not costumey. Lastly, finish the outfit with some nautical-inspired wedges, boat shoes or your favorite causal footwear… and most importantly, relax and have fun!

But as gorgeous as they are, do you actually see yourself spending $675 (!) on a pair of highly delicate espadrilles? Well, I can’t.
