Acne‘s “Pistol” ankle boot is pretty much the “It” shoe of the fashion blogosphere because it’s either in every style blogger’s wardrobe or at least on their wish list. Apparently the appeal is partly due to the fact that Acne makes great quality footwear and most bloggers say they were totally worth the investment. At first I didn’t really see why these simple boots were so highly coveted, but the more I look at them the more I start to like them.

My Shopbop Wish List for January 2012

So this is it, my first Shopbop wish list in the new year. This time I tried to break out of my comfort zone with a few of the items I picked, i.e. the white structured blazer or the floral print jacket. Blazers, I use to think, tend to look a little boxy on me and I’m also very sensitive to anything printed and often shy away from prints on non-dress items, but this one by Rebecca Minkoff I found to be quite charming. GWQEKJGQWDJKGB! Sorry, I think I just fainted from looking at these stunning booties by Burberry Prorsum. As you can see from the shearling-lining they’re from the current F/W 2010 collection (the one everyone is copying right now). Seriously, it can’t get much better than these if you think design meets function. They keep your feet warm and make you look like you just ran out of a Vogue photoshoot. Soooo good! And despite the whopping price of $1.095 these keep selling out. If I had the funds, I, too, would indulge and blow my budget by buying just these shoes and nothing else this fall.

Steve Madden “BROADWY” Booties

Granted, it was only a matter of time until Steve Madden releases his own Burberry interpretation because he obviously can’t miss out on the biggest trend this fall. So ta-daaaaaa, here you go! The heel on the “BROADWY” ankle boots is sturdier compared to the stiletto-shape of the Burberry booties and they also don’t have the cozy shearling-lining, but aside from that they look very much the same. These are a little pricey at $149.95, but I have a feeling that these will fly off the shelves regardless.

Real vs. Steal – Christian Louboutin Daffodile Platform Pumps

So let me be honest with you. At first, I kind of hated Christian Louboutin‘s Daffodile pumps. They looked too stripperish, too high, just totally OTT. However, the more I saw these extreme platform pumps being flaunted by celebs on and off the red carpet the more I started to like them. Not sure what changed my mind about these… maybe the extra few inches gained by wearing these sky-high beauties? I’m not sure, but I do know that I certainly don’t like the $995 price tag attached to these designer heels.

With the colder season, the Viktor & Rolf Two-tone Platform Pumps are the perfect alternative for traditional fall booties. These are similar to the Viktor & Rolf Split Shaft Platform Booties, just in a pump version. This pump certainly has its own dynamic between the contrasted red to black color and suede to leather material. The collar in the back of the shoe adds a sense of extravagance as well as an artistic element. This initiates an instant statement, therefore should be worn with something rather simple.
