The brighter colors seem to be more fitting with this “Lilly” Mini Shoulder Bag by Handbag Heaven. The bow strap is so cute and youthful without being child-like in any way. This mini bag seems to perfect for summer and the candy colors coincide perfectly with the petite silhouette. The Rebecca Minkoff Boyfriend Crossbody Bag is very in right now, as it is the It bag making its appearance among quite a few celebrities. The hardware inspired embellishments along with the chained strap add a touch of masculinity but in a feminine way. It’s the perfect size if you’re on the go, or it can be simultaneously transformed into a clutch for a night out of town look. I especially love the military green color Shenae Grimes and Ashley Greene are sporting, too bad it’s $295.

I said it before and I’ll say it again: I’m not a bag person. Sure, I do own quite a few bags as someone who deeply cares about fashion, but it’s not like I keep track of what’s hot & new in Bagville as I do with shoes. And when it comes down to what goes into my cart it’s almost always shoes over bags. However, sometimes a bag manages to distract me from my first love which this lovely little drawstring crossbody by Rachel Rachel Roy totally did. I love the neutral greige color, the various textures of faded leopard and exotic snakeskin, the diagonal front zipper, the brass hardware, well everything basically! It all just makes for a great bag! Looking at it I would have never thought it cost only $89, it looks so much more expensive, don’t you agree? Currently available on pre-order, this bag will be shipped to you Mid-September, just in time for fall!

I don’t know that I would advocate purchasing a huge neon green bag but a small brightly colored purse is something I can definitely get behind. You may initially shy away from wearing a turquoise or hot pink handbag, but trust me when I say that it will quickly become almost like a neutral in your closet. There to jazz up any subdued outfit or pair of jeans. I love Marc Jacobs‘ The Single Quilted bag for this purpose because it comes in super fun colors but in a very classic shape. I particularly like the hot pink color (as seen on Whitney Port below) but the purple would also be great. Now, I’ll be right here when you feel like buying me an early birthday present.

ModCloth‘s Love is a Bag-lefield bag (don’t they come up with the cutest names?) is what we’re calling an MJ meets Chanel love-child. The shape of the bag and the studs is fairly identical to Whitney’s MJ above, but the chain/leather strap is very Chanel-esque. I love this bag. For $43.99 I kinda feel like everyone should pick one up. The hot pink works especially well during summer months and I say splurge on a great black bag; skimp on the brightly colored, fun one!

I am more of a shoe girl, but I can very well appreciate a great handbag when I see one. Marc Jacobs is a master when it comes to accessories and I’m especially loving the vibrant blue studded Stardust bag below. So cute and so feminine, but also quite pricey.
