Gucci‘s Soho bag pictured below is a chic and classic crossbody and as far as branding goes rather subtle with its embossed iconic GG logo emblem, at least for being Gucci after all. But if you’d ask whether I think these stitched on double GGs are worth the multiple hundred dollar markup that puts this bag near 4 digit price territory? Not really. And while I’ve declared my love for Valentino many times over, especially when it’s something from their famed “Rockstud” collection, I am not a millionaire and have quite a few monthly bills to pay, so there’s no way I could possibly justify spending almost 2k on one bag. Luckily though you can get the best of both worlds, Gucci and Valentino, for (much, much) less – on sale even! – by opting for Kate Spade‘s fabulous Tinley bag which looks like a very pretty mashup of Gucci’s Soho and Valentino’s Rockstud Rolling crossbody. Tinley originally retailed for $278, but is now on sale for $181 which would save you $669 on the Gucci bag and $1.564 on the Valentino one. A total of $2.414 saved if you decide to go for the look for less version instead of buying the two designer bags.

Satin and mules and especially satin mules have been a major shoe trend this year, so it’s no wonder we’re still seeing many brands picking up on this trend for their fall collecions. For me, the first noticeable attention to satin mules was brought by No. 21‘s satin high heel mules which looked so cool and avantgarde with their oversized front bow pleats. A few seasons later Miu Miu came out with a similar, more playful satin shoe style that had a thick round block heel and an added jewel brooch on the vamp. And while browsing the world wide web for new designer dupes today, I discovered what seems to be a hybrid of both the Miu Miu and the No. 21 shoe. “Fallyn” by Enzo Angiolini combines the best of both worlds for less than $80! It’s a gorgeous blush pink satin high heel mule with bow pleating and a cute jewel embellishment on the side, a fabulous and affordable love child of Miu Miu and No. 21 so to speak. And did I mention it also comes in blue and black satin? Such a stylish steal find!

I’m absolutely loving our newest edition of Copycat Math because it combines two of my favorite things in fashion: espadrilles and Dolce & Gabbana. Espadrilles have seriously become my new go-to shoes to wear in the summer months; they’re super comfortable (also breathable) and there’s something so effortless chic about the jute sole, the rough side stitches and the canvas fabric. And do I really still have to explain why I’m such a Dolce & Gabbana fangirl? The designer duo’s creations are the epitome of Italian elegance and opulence! I’ve been loving every single one of their collections in the last few years and feel like this isn’t going to end anytime soon. So the first time I saw that Dolce & Gabbana came out with a range of gorgeously embellished espadrilles in their iconic summer prints, I was instantly obsessed! Until I saw the price tags on these and my fashion heart crumbled! Luckily, a few days ago I discovered a set of espadrilles by Chinese Laundry which look so much like the Italian real deal, but cost only a fraction of the originals: $79.95! How awesome is that? Total steal deal alert! Now the only question is: which print should I get? Nah, just kidding, I’ll take them all!

Seems like we can’t catch a break from satin slides at the moment and to be honest with you: I don’t really mind! There’s just something so effortlessly chic about slipping into a pair of delicate satin mules, don’t you agree? A few days ago, I was looking through the newest arrivals at my favorite online shops when I saw a picture of Dolce Vita’s “Henry” Cross-Strap Satin Mules. The design seemed instantly familiar to me, but I couldn’t put my finger on the designer inspiration right away. So I kept on browsing while my brain was doing its usual shoe memory scanning process in the background. And suddenly it just hit me that the Dolce Vita design was a lovely hybrid of Gucci’s “Webby” High Heel Mule from last year and Gianvito Rossi’s “Barth” Sandal Slides which we have already featured here in a previous blog post. Copycat math has striked once again! And I must admit: $595 + $645 = $130 is exactly the kind of shopping math that I like!

Today we’ll show you what happens when you get inspired by both Acne Studios, Sweden’s hottest fashion powerhouse, and the epitome of Italian luxury fashion, Valentino. The result is a pretty awesome ankle boot; cool like Acne and detail-oriented like Valentino! Marc Fisher LTD did just that. The basic shape of their designer-inspired shoe looks like a spitting image of Acne’s Jensen boot. The minimalistic boot design didn’t seem to be enough for Marc Fisher though and so they went on to add star-shaped stud-details on the back of their Chelsea boot which bear an uncanny resemblance to Valentino’s stud detailing from the “Starstudded” collection. Coincidence? We don’t think so, and to be honest, we don’t really care because their Acne-Valentino shoe hybrid is a beautiful and classic ankle boot that’s both versatile and eye-catching at the same time. But the best thing is, you don’t have to shell out a whopping $1.495 or even $560 to get all of this shoe goodness, no, these beauties come at a fraction of the real deals’ price: $199 now: $139.30. Admittedly, that’s still quite a price, but the quality of these imported boots looks superb aaaaaand, now listen up frugal fashionistas, Lord & Taylor is currently running a promotion where you can save 20% off most items with promo code “MEMORIAL” (offer valid through May 25th, 2017 at 11:59PM EST). This would lower the price of the Marc Fisher LTD booties down to a little over $111 and they’re definitely worth that, don’t you agree?
