I couldn’t help myself. After a very shoe shopping heavy June, I promised not to buy any new shoes in July because 7 pairs in 4 weeks are quite enough for a while – even for a shoe fanatic like me. Let me be upfront about this. I am not a flats girl. The lowest heel I wear is probably a 1 inch wedge. That being said, I will often look around me, whilst out, and feel envious of all the girls who are seemingly floating on air in their cute flats. While they may not be for me, I can admit that they are a zillion times more practical than high heels and can often be just as cute. Take these Jimmy Choo Jill Studded Jelly Flats, for instance. Today’s Heel of the Day is Chinese Laundry’s “Hoity Toity” sexy stiletto pump. One of the most important things about shoes for me – and probably one of the many reasons why I love designer shoes so much – is the shape of a shoe. Gwen Stefani’s L.A.M.B. design team can be often held liable for a lot of my shoe obsessions. Look at the “Tammy” bootie pumps for example. They are so neat and fancy. The criss cross detail I like as well as the sexy zipper in the back and the stiletto heel will make my legs look a mile long. However, the price is a real turn-off.

I remember falling in love with these Barbara Bui gladiator platforms sometime last year. They were first featured in various fashion editorials, a few weeks later I rediscovered them while flipping through Barbara Bui’s Summer 2008 collection lookbook. Sadly, I never saw them being up for sale somewhere (on- and offline) and I was so dying to get a pair like this.
