Carlos By Carlos Santana

Bionda Castana may not be a household name yet, but judging from their latest shoe collections I think it definitely should be. For instance, I absolutely adore these black ankle boots here. The design is classic and timeless, but the front straps give it some sort of bondage-like vibe which spices up the shoe and keeps it from being yet another black ankle boot in your closet. However, my wallet is not meant for splurging on designer shoes, and even the sale price of $256 is still a bit of a turn-off for me.

These buckled ankle boots were designed by shoe design genius Giuseppe Zanotti for the hottest brand in Fashionville right now, Balmain, for their Fall 2009 footwear range. I wasn’t really a fan of this collection until I saw these badass rocker booties. My only problem: finding the pocket change to afford these. Sigh!

Hmmm. This Lam looks a little like a very popular Lou I have been coveting for several seasons now. Love the corset-like lacing and summery cork heel. And we all know there is nothing sexier than a sandal that ties around the ankle. But what I don’t love: $790 for this pair? Um, no, thank you, Derek Lam.

Today I realized I really shouldn’t be drinking coffee (or any beverage for that matter) when I’m in shoe stalking mode. Because, as I learned this can end pretty badly. For my clothes, my hardware and everyone standing around me. But let me explain. As every morning I got myself a cup of coffee and sat down to read my emails and check out the newest arrivals at Shoes.com. It was going as usual, nothing overly exciting that caught my eye right until I spied these friggin’ amazing nude snakeskin-print Carlos by Carlos Santana ankle strap wedges. I was so stunned by them, I took a deep inhale, but failed to realize I still had a large sip of coffee in my mouth. So I swallowed up on my coffee, freaked out, started panicking and spilled the coffee all over me, my table and my monitor. Like big time! As you can probably imagine it wasn’t one of my best moments. So listen up, ladies, falling in love with a shoe can end pretty messy these days. Not to mention be life-threating. Oh well, the lessons you learn in life. Available in nude or black.
