Colorful Pom Pom sandals are all the rage this summer, but if you can’t be bothered with complicated and tedious lace-up gladiator styles which take forever to get laced just right, these embellished leather slides by Schutz are a great and just as fabulous alternative – they’re super easy to put on and off which thus makes them the perfect beach or pool shoes for your summer vacation. But if you don’t see yourself spending $160 on a pair of trendy leather slides, well, we just happened to come across an absolute spot-on Schutz “Estelen” look-alike by Steve Madden. The design of Madden’s “Gypsy” is pretty much identical, even the arrangement of the embellishments is almost the exact same! The only noticeable difference here is the $79 price tag on the Steve Maddens which makes them half as expensive as the pricey Schutz sandals. Which slide-on sandals do you prefer, Madden or Schutz? And would you rather splurge or save on this shoe trend? Let us know!

Summer may be officially over, but it’s never too late for a good pair of sunglasses, right? Case in point: these geometric, wire-framed “Love Punch” shades. When I first saw celebrities and style bloggers flaunting these shades, I assumed they were by a big household name like Dior or Prada, but I then learned that these are actually by a South Korean eyewear brand named Gentle Monster which until then hasn’t been on my radar yet. I looked at the rest of their collection and these guys certainly know their stuff when it comes to designing beautiful sunglasses, so splurging on these razor-thin $345 shades might be a substantial but smart investment. However, if you can’t justify this kind of price tag, keep on reading to find a couple of budget-friendly alternatives that won’t break the bank.

SojoS Cat Eye Mirrored Sunglasses

So these sunglasses by SojoS are an absolute dead ringer for the “Love Punch” shades by Gentle Monster except these will cost you $12.99 instead of $345. They come in a variety of different lense and frame colors, so feel free to opt for more than one pair at that price. Don’t expect them to last a lifetime, but if you just want to wear them for a season or two, these are a good alternative.

Similar versions are also available at Amazon #2amazon, Sunglass Warehouse, Choies, Romwe, SheIn & MakeMeChic.

Aldo “Qilalla” Sunglasses

Another great and possibly more durable Gentle Monster “Love Punch” dupe would have to be these sunglasses by Aldo. They cost slightly more ($16!), but also look sturdier and less fragile than the SojoS sunnies, so if you’re a clumsy person like me and happen to accidentally sit on your sunglasses from time to time, these Aldo shades might be the smarter choice for you.

I don’t actively follow swimwear fashion, so for me to take notice of a swimwear trend, it really takes a lot of hype and medial exposure (yes, I have seen you, Triangl bikinis!) or a very, very beautiful bikini/swimsuit. Marysia‘s scalloped “Antibes” swimwear is easily both: beautiful and dearly loved by celebs and online influencers worldwide. The scalloped swimsuits and bikinis regularly get a fair share of social media exposure and are universally flattering for women of all shapes and sizes. Now if only they weren’t so darn expensive, the “Antibes” bikini set will set you back $282.

They come in multiple colors and designs and most of them are super cheap, but fit and sizing can be off sometimes when it comes to Asian clothing, so be aware of this possible issue and consider ordering various sizes (especially if your top and bottom aren’t 100% proportional).

Accessorize “Sasha” Scalloped Bandeau Bikini

Last but not least, I also stumbled upon the “Sasha” bikini collection by Accessorize which, too, has some visible Marysia Antibes inspiration going on. The scalloped bikinis have an extra bow knot added on the bustier, they come in either white, navy or coral and a set costs less than $60. Super cute and super affordable, I love this steal!

I feel like I’ve been waiting ages to finally be able to feature this gorgeous leopard calf hair clutch by Clare V. which has been on my “Real vs. Steal“-radar for the longest of times. Even though this zippered clutch has been quite the hit among personal style bloggers, fashion insiders and IGers all over the world, no one seemed to bother coming up with a decent dupe for this coveted animal print clutch which, by the way, retails for $245. When it comes to statement bags I, as a deeply loyal shoes girl, will almost always opt for the cheaper, look-for-less route because I am way too lazy to switch up my bag game on a day-to-day basis. That’s why the handful of bags that I do own hardly ever get as much exposure as they deserve and mostly live in the shadow stashed away in a dark corner of my closet. And even though I’m really loving this particular statement clutch (never ever getting tired of leopard print) and don’t think $245 is an astronomically high price for this wild-looking beauty of a bag, I think I’d prefer not to spend hundreds of dollars on a clutch that might not get me a satisfying cost-per-wear ratio eventually.

Banana Republic x August Handbags “Portofino” Cheetah Print Clutch

Update (04/11/2017): Spotted another animal print clutch alternative today! You can buy it for $198 at Banana Republic which is admittedly only slightly cheaper than the real deal, but you might prefer the pattern on this one or just wait until this clutch goes to sale later on in the season. By the way, a smaller version for $78 is available here.

BP. Leopard Print Genuine Calf Hair Pouch

And now we’re talking again! The fashion gods seem to have heard my (our?) prayers and so BP. came up with a fabulous leopard print clutch that’s super close to the Clare V. version. Same design, same animal print and same size! What I also really love about this bag – apart from its obvious dupe potential, of course – is that it is made of genuine calf hair just like the real deal, but it’s only $45 instead of $245. Major steal deal alert! Yes, the leopard print calf hair portion is restricted to the front side of the bag only, but that’s totally fine with me. So what are you waiting for? Your next budget-friendly statement clutch buy is ready to ship!

Now that Christmas is only 2 days away I know you’re probably super busy shopping for last minute gifts (guilty as charged!), wrapping presents and finalizing your Christmas menu, but there’s always some time to appreciate a beautiful shoe, right? This red suede fringed block-heel beauty by Aquazzura might look familiar as we’ve featured its 4″ stiletto heel sibling in a previous Real vs. Steal post. But as much as we love a sky-high stiletto high-heel shoe, even the comfiest of them still isn’t comfy. Wearing high heels is painful, often exhausting, sometimes even downright dangerous (hello, cobblestone pavement!), so I’m super happy to see mid-heeled block-heels taking the wheel in the footwear trend scene right now. Because happy feet = happy me! And these Aquazzura sandals are a prime example that show that block-heeled shoes can look just as sexy and beautiful as their high-heeled counterparts. Too bad these beauties cost a whopping $785 though! Luckily, we’ve found a few budget-friendly alternatives that will give you the designer look for a fraction of the price.

Update (04/03/2017): Another great Aquazzura alternative are these block heel sandals by BP. which are made of genuine leather and retail for $59.95. They miss the fringe detail on the front strap, but the overall design is still quite similar to the designer version above. Available in blush, blue and black suede.

Kaitlyn Pan Fringed Suede Lace-Up Tassel Block Heel Sandals

My favorite Aquazzura Wild Thing alternative however is this one by Kaitlyn Pan. Why? Well, first off: it’s just as spot-on as the Athena Alexander version, but it is made of genuine suede and also costs $13 less ($84.99). Plus, the available colors (red, blue = my fave, tan and black) are absolutely gorgeous, too.
