Don’t you love it when you find great-looking shoes which cost under $100 and then discover they’re pieces of art as well? Kind of what happened to me with these black wedge booties by ALICE9. I was browsing the shoe section at YesStyle when I spied these and thought: “Oh, these are cute.” – So I clicked, got to see a larger pic and gasped in excitement: “OMG! I need them in my life!” – The acrylic wedge works like an optical illusion. People will think you’re floating on air as the clear wedge becomes practically invisible for startled eyes from afar. Hats off to such unexpected and extraordinary details like these on $100 shoes. L.O.V.E.

You know how I know we’re good? Because we never forget a shoe. Or a handbag. Or a face. OK, so not the last one. Back in the old days (you know, 2005) the fashion world saw the introduction to the “It Bag” – a bag that became every starlet’s must have accessory. One day, readers (stay with me), Mary Kate Olsen was spotted carrying a gorgeous black, studded bag that no one could identify but that everyone immediately wanted. A year later the bag (eventually attributed to the talented, Alexander Wang) was made available to the public. It was then known as “Coco”; it is now known as “Rocco”; I can afford neither one.

Wet Seal Stud Bottom Satchel
I have to be honest, the last time I shopped at Wet Seal I was looking for something to wear to the school dance (in other words, it was 1998), but by golly perhaps Wet Seal deserves another look! Their Stud Bottom Satchel is a pretty darn great dupe of the Alexander Wang bag. True, it’s not made out of leather but I know there are vegans among us who actually prefer that. For a measly $24.50 this is a hot bag to add to your arsenal. (Note: if you’re having trouble locating the bag on theWet Seal site, click on the link below and enter the style number – “42178118” – into the search field).

I’ve got to admit, put “Givenchy” before anything, and I’m pretty much in love. But as much as I wish those Crisscross Wedge Sandals were on my feet, at a whopping $1.174.50, I’ve already put that little fantasy to bed. Thankfully, the “Gonzalo” Wedge Sandals by BCBGeneration run a very close second. And they look extraordinarily comfy. Available in black lycra mesh, silver ash, and buttermilk.

Hey…Jane Aldridge stole my Mongolian lamb vest! To get back at her, I might have to steal her Barneys CO-OP Over-the-Knee Buckle Boots. Especially since they retailed for $740 and sold clean out. Of course, I’m kidding people. About the vest, at least. The boots did sell out, and there’s no reason to wonder why. Look how hot they are on Jane! Say what you will about this uber-famous bloggerista—but she’s got style in spades.

How kickass are these shiny multi strap wedges by Givenchy? When I first saw the footwear collection for the S/S 2010 collection I was unsure if fast fashion chains would answer the call by replicating these extreme almost fetish-style shoes. But surprisingly a lot of them did and we’ve had several of the Givenchy shoes available for those on a lighter shoe shopping budget.

Black leather. A screamingly hot stiletto. Buckles. How do I love thee, Givenchy? Let me count the ways. One of my favorite trends of the last several years is the reintroduction and reinterpretation of the bootie. And Givenchy’s Slouchy Thong Ankle Boots are a winning pair, I must say.

Marciano “Milap” Booties
I’m sure there are thousands of working-class fashionistas who regularly fantasize about being able to plunk $1.150 down on a pair of booties, at-whim. Even if that fantasy never comes to fruition, you can still indulge your inner diva with the “Milap” Booties by Marciano. Like the Givenchy pair, they’re black, buckled, and bold—and while they’re no steal deal, $247.95 beats the hell out of more than a grand, don’t you think?

Drew Barrymore‘s outfit choices are as unpredictable as is her personality. And while she’s probably not the first who’d come to mind when thinking of a style icon, this outfit here I L.O.V.E. The actress made an appearance on Letterman to promote her newest film “Going The Distance“. Drew looked absolutely amazing in a bronze sequin top by Richard Chai with navy high-waisted Camilla and Marc pants and grey suede Yves Saint Laurent Trib Too pumps. I love how relaxed and glamourous she looks at the same time.

Have y’all noticed that since YSL was resurrected by the brilliant Tom Ford about a decade ago, it has been on a roll ever since? While it’s true that Tom Ford reintroduced the brand before he sadly disappeared from women’s fashion, I must admit that Stefano Pilati has proved himself a worthy replacement. One need only look at the Yves Saint Laurent Tribute Pumps (and other YSL Tribs) to know it is indeed true.

Yes! The “SURPASS” Platform Pumps by Steve Madden are gleaming, virtual twins of the YSL Tribute, are they not? Available for pre-order. Now back to that fantasy…

Louboutins are not easy to knock off and I have searched very loooong before I found these stunning Louboutin look-a-likes by Dolce Vita. These Giuseppe Zanotti heels bring the bootie trend to a whole ‘nother level. I can’t decide weather it’s the swoop detailing at the ankle or the bad-ass (can I say that here?) grommets that I love most. Unfortunately these bad boys will set you back over 480 big ones, and that’s the sale price!

These Mojo Moxy boots are obviously modeled after the Giuseppe Zanotti version. Also available in blue, camel & grey suede.
