Up until recently British designer J.W. Anderson hasn’t been on my fashion radar, but now that I’ve seen his latest womenswear collections, especially the bags and the shoes, I immediately subscribed to his various social media channels in order to never miss out on his future creations again. But let me give you an example of J.W. Anderson’s unique aesthetic first: look at these gorgeous asymmetrical pointy ruffle booties below! I love the boldness of the ruffles and the fact that the asymmetric arrangement forms a forward-facing arrow when both feet are standing next to each other. What I’m not loving though is the price: $840 in retail and even the sale price of $570.99 is still pretty hefty!

Obsession of the Day – Blush Beauty

by Irina on June 14, 2015

Lately, I’ve been obsessed with soft, flesh-toned colors such as blush pink. There’s something so quintessentially feminine about that color that makes me want to turn my wardrobe into an altar for everything blush. So when I happened to come across this gorgeous nude-colored draped jersey skirt by Rachel Pally, I simply had to create a blush-toned look around it. I went full on matchy-matchy with this outfit which might be a bit too much for some, but I totally love it. Do you?

Today marks the first day of Fall which also means: it’s officially bootie time! And let me tell you: I loooooove bootie time! Why, you ask? Because I loooooove booties, silly. And how could I not with so many fab ankle boots such as these by Giuseppe Zanotti available around me? The asymmetrical zipper that runs across the boot is such a nice extra detail, don’t you agree? It’s what makes this shoe stand out without being too loud and demanding. I love when shoes have that vibe. What I don’t love though? The price of these Zanottis. And we’re already talking sale price here. Sheesh!

Luckily for us, Trouvé‘s “Destin” boot is here to save our budgets. It has a couple minor differences compared to the designer original (with the most noticable being the shorter heel), but overall it is a pretty great Giuseppe Zanotti dupe. If there ever were an ankle boot that could elongate your legs, it wouldn’t surprise me if they were from Valentino. The design house is known for its exceptional craftsmanship and expert tailoring. While the black leather may be stark against fairer skin, the cut of this style is incredibly flattering for all women. I’ve always been a huge fan of boots in general, and these would definitely bring a lot of versatility to any wardrobe. You can wear them with any pair of pants or skirt, and instantly add a little edge to your outfit. The touch of hardware definitely doesn’t go unnoticed, adding some glamour to the overall look. You would think that as expensive as these are, they wouldn’t sell out as quickly as they have. But good news awaits, scroll down to see a fantastic look-a-like pair for about a quarter of the price!

Schutz “Eva” Studded Booties

These booties by Schutz are phenomenal. They look just like the high-end designer version above, but cost a lot less! Even this pair is an investment for most of us, but considering the quality and how often you’ll wear them, they are very much worth it. Hilary’s look above is very youthful and chic, but you can also try black leggings and a tunic or a high-waisted pencil skirt and sheer blouse to really make them noticeable. The other great thing about this pair is that you can wear them as a practical shoe as well, peaking out from under slim bootcut trousers for more professional occasions. Love the idea? They are also available in dark brown!

Alexander Wang presented his Pre-Fall 2010 collection a few days ago and I have to admit I’m not impressed. Ever since his glorious Spring and Pre-Fall 2009 collections he just couldn’t live up to my expectations. Maybe Fall 2010 will reignite my love for his designs. Until then I’ll have to keep on drooling over his past creations, one of which is this beautifully draped asymmetrical jersey dress from his Pre-Fall 2009 collection. So simple yet so stylish.
