Real vs. Steal – Rachel Pally Diamond Keyhole Long Dress

by Irina on June 29, 2011

I am currently totally hooked on maxi dresses. LOVE. LOVE. LOVE them! It was just recently that I ordered a beautiful emerald green maxi dress from Dorothy Perkins and when it arrived and I tried it on, it was an almost magical moment. The material was so soft and flowy, the color utterly flattering against my olive skin tone and the twisted front give it some needed sexiness. Now I’m spying on the cobalt blue version waiting for it to go on sale and in the meantime decided it’s time to get a white maxi dress for when my summer tan kicks in. What I noticed during my maxi dress research is that Rachel Pally makes some really gorgeous ones. Most of them have a Grecian-like design and hence look really stunning on almost any body type. Just look at this sexy classic black maxi dress. Lovely, isn’t it? But you have to check out the price! And I’m talking SALE price here!

ASOS Padded Keyhole Front Grecian Maxi Dress

While this maxi dress by ASOS may not be a dupe it still gives you pretty much the same look but for less than a third of the original’s (sale!) price.

ASOS Gold Bar Keyhole Maxi Dress

If you’re not totally sold on the first version, how about this second ASOS alternative which comes in a beautiful indigo blue. It’s a little bit pricier than the first one, but the vibrant color is totally worth the markup. And it’s still less than 50% of the Rachel Pally dress.

  • I love the cheaper versions so much better! They are cute!!

  • I love the maxi dress trend!
The solid colours are nice, but with some materials I find you have to be very careful as to what you wear underneath (note: beware of underwear lines!).
I find the patterned or floral ones provides a little more coverage (camouflage!) like this one http://www.shopmyclothes.com/MyDetails.aspx?postid=1331
    I’m sticking with florals! 🙂
