I’ve always been a huge fan of platform pumps but lately I’ve been on the hunt for unique details, above all else. A square toe, for example, or a platform that doesn’t quite make it to the tip of the shoe. Those kinds of quirky touches are what really make a shoe interesting – in an architectural kind-of way. Proenza Schouler‘s Perforated Leather Platform Sandals have those special details in droves. A rounded, super high heel lend a sculptural elegance, while the perforated leather and uneven platform give a slight rocker feel. I also love the light brown leather – it feels very springy!

Steve Madden “DIGNIFYY” Woven Platforms

HOT DEAL: Use promo code “WINTER20” to get 20% OFF all orders of $100 or more at Steve Madden including free shipping! Offer valid through 12/31/2012. Some exclusions apply.

So these Steve Madden “DIGNIFYY” Woven Platforms aren’t an exact copy of the Proenza Schoulers, but I love them just the same. They obviously have a more mainstream look to them but I’m liking that light wooden platform with the cognac leather and the slight dip in the platform. These would look hot with flowery, light summer dresses and cut-off denim shorts and yes, thank you, GOD, they are priced way more reasonably than the originals – even more so if you use that coupon code mentioned above!.

Alright. So a hippie I am not. I love luxe boho, but that’s about as far as I go. However I’m not so daft as to think that there wouldn’t be a number of freespirits out there who would love a pair of Bally Roxine Cork Platform Sandals. I’m sure they would look fantastic with a short summer shift, and they’re probably supercomfy. They originally retailed for (…guffaw…) $450, but even at half off, that’s a lot of dough to get your hippie on.

Lucky Brand “Taul” Embroidered Cork Sandals

If you’re not a stiletto girl and love the idea of a sensible shoe, these Lucky Brand “Taul” Embroidered Cork Sandals are probably the only pair I’ve ever written about that could even come close to the concept of sensible. And you can add cents to that sensibility—cents that stay in your pocket, that is. Because at $58.45 (sale price!), plus free shipping, this pair definitely makes a lot more sense if you feel the need to free your inner flower child.

The design house of Giuseppe Zanotti has been coming out with quite a few embellished heels lately and to be brutally honest, they’re not my favorite. I do like the blingy-ness (if you will) of these I96016 (huh?) Rhinestone Embellished Pumps but there’s something not totally luxe looking about them. I feel like I’ve seen pumps just like this in some of the lower end stores and I gotta tell ya, that kind of rubs me the wrong way. To ask me to pay $500 for a pair of easily dupable heels…uh uh. Sorry.

ALDO “Endow” Peep-toe Pumps

See, what’d I tell ya? These ALDO “Endow” pumps may not be exact copies of the originals but they’re pretty darn close. It looks like they may have even used the same bijoutier for those rhinestones. I’m a fan of the rich black suede but most of all I’m a fan of the price: $44.98 sounds a lot more suitable for these pumps, don’t you think?

Killing me softly with their song, killing me softly… What? Huh? Oh. Sorry, I was having a moment. I could swear I heard the siren song of the Gucci S/S 2010 collection calling my name. And in that same hypnotic moment, I envisioned walking into my closet and seeing Daryl, and Gail, and all my favorite Gucci friends. Sigh.

bebe “Shana” Leather Cuffed Platform Sandals

You know what I’m going to write, right? That I’d totally be rocking the Gucci Gail this very moment if only they weren’t $795. But as such, they are relegated to my footwear fantasies. So again, we turn to bebe, which has become quite the reliable source for designer-inspired shoes. The Shana Leather Cuffed Platform Sandals vary slightly compared to Gucci’s Gail, but they still have the same impact. Not for the weak at heart, no they aren’t. So should you decide to throw caution to the wind and strut these 5.75-inchers, at least the price tag won’t give you heart palpitations. Available in black and white.

OMG. That stands for Oh. My. GUCCI! And oh, the hotness…Daryl, will you marry me? I am sick for this platform from the Gucci S/S 2010 collection. I mean, what else can I say, other than I think I need a cold shower? And so will anyone in the vicinity of a broad in these bodacious bondage-like shoes. Meeeeeeowwww, mama!

So why don’t I already own the Gucci Daryl? There are 930 reasons why, namely 930 George Washingtons that aren’t staring back at me from my wallet.
