Wow… what’s there to say about Penélope Cruz in this incredible nude sheath by Dolce & Gabbana except caliente? She looks phenomenal. The dress is exquisite, as are the to-die-for nude Christian Louboutin peep-toes. She gets two thumbs up, an A++, and first place.

Love Pen in that frock, and I’m sure you do too. So here’s the real-world, real-girl version, for less than $243. And a customer testimonial for you…I have those nude Whitsey pumps, and they are astoundingly fabulous! They are my new favorite pumps, and mind you, I’m not a big fan of peep-toes. But this is a very special shoe. Truuuuuust me. Happy spring and happy shopping!
When the Spring/Summer 2010 Ready-to-Wear Shows debuted last fall, I was more than ready to wear the entire Balmain military-inspired collection. The leather! The epaulets! The olive green! Sure, one half of me is all stilettos and champagne, but the other half is pure Lara Croft—so there is just something about
soldiers…uh…camo, combat boots, and military styling that gets me. Attennnnnn-TION! Balmain’s S/S 2010 collection is where military meets civilian in the chicest (and sexiest) way possible.
So where my Balmain military tour comes to an abrupt end is when I remember it’s Balmain, and it’s expensive (and I’m sure I’m not the only one in that camp). But that’s the great thing about living in these times. There are scores of realistically-priced pieces available so you can unleash your inner G.I. Jane and not feel like a bomb just dropped when you open your credit card statement. And hey, you don’t even have to do the recon yourself. We’ve assembled a fantastic array of lower-priced items to help you build your military look now.

I know we covered nude shoes here only a few days ago, but I just happened to come across the loveliest nude pump ever! The “Moos” by ALDO! Isn’t this shoe pure perfection? I absolutely love the lightweight nude shade; the heel is high, but not unmanageable, it has a nice platform for extra comfort and the patent (real!) leather adds some shine. The price of $75 is very reasonable, too. The downside? Only size 8 available… bummer (damn you, size 9 feet!) These shoes do come in an array of other neutral colors though including a taupe version for darker skin colors.

I’ve come to know Alice + Olivia as a high quality knockoff brand. Each season the designer duo gets inspired by high-end designer labels such as Balmain, Lanvin and Nina Ricci for example. Then mass retailers get inspired by Alice + Olivia designs and knock them off as well. The circle of (fashion) life I guess. This dress however appears to be an original design. It’s a super flirty frock with a bit of a nautical edge to it. Love the dress, hate the price!

Seriously, can LuLu*s get any better? I just adore their dupe of the Alice + Olivia dress. It’s almost identical! And the $55 price tag is absolutely fantastic! I’ve seen this dress sell out once already, so if you like it, make sure to buy it soon. It’s available in either black/rose (pictured) or taupe/white.

During Kim Kardashian‘s recent trip to Miami she spent lots of quality time with her little nephew Mason, got a golden glow on the beach and most up-my-alley, wore fabulous outfit after outfit… well, after outfit. How totally Kardashian of her! Here she attended the Miami Open in jeans and a blazer with Louboutins that I love, don’t you? It’s a look that’s laid-back enough that almost anyone can pull it off. Give it a try.
