Killing me softly with their song, killing me softly… What? Huh? Oh. Sorry, I was having a moment. I could swear I heard the siren song of the Gucci S/S 2010 collection calling my name. And in that same hypnotic moment, I envisioned walking into my closet and seeing Daryl, and Gail, and all my favorite Gucci friends. Sigh.

bebe “Shana” Leather Cuffed Platform Sandals

You know what I’m going to write, right? That I’d totally be rocking the Gucci Gail this very moment if only they weren’t $795. But as such, they are relegated to my footwear fantasies. So again, we turn to bebe, which has become quite the reliable source for designer-inspired shoes. The Shana Leather Cuffed Platform Sandals vary slightly compared to Gucci’s Gail, but they still have the same impact. Not for the weak at heart, no they aren’t. So should you decide to throw caution to the wind and strut these 5.75-inchers, at least the price tag won’t give you heart palpitations. Available in black and white.

OMG. That stands for Oh. My. GUCCI! And oh, the hotness…Daryl, will you marry me? I am sick for this platform from the Gucci S/S 2010 collection. I mean, what else can I say, other than I think I need a cold shower? And so will anyone in the vicinity of a broad in these bodacious bondage-like shoes. Meeeeeeowwww, mama!

So why don’t I already own the Gucci Daryl? There are 930 reasons why, namely 930 George Washingtons that aren’t staring back at me from my wallet. That I must buy. And at $149, you’re probably thinking the same thing, too. Hurry though—I’m betting they won’t last long.

The plain black pump is the go to heel in every woman’s wardrobe, but equally as important is the not so simple black shoe. It brings excitement to the little black dress and functions as an accessory all on its own. These ribbon wrapped sandals by Givenchy stand alone as a statement with the ribbon wrapping all the way up to the ankle, like an ankle boot – fit for summer!

GUESS “Noon” Ankle-Strap Sandals

UPDATE (04/15/2010): OMG! I just discovered these gorgeous sandals by GUESS. Aren’t they amazing? They look like a 1:1 of the Givenchys, but for about 1/9 the price.

ASOS “Halle” Stapped Sandals

UPDATE (04/15/2010): This sandal by ASOS is also quite visibly inspired by the Givenchy heels. Not as good as the GUESS version, but still kind of charming I think and a lot cheaper. Available in black or nude.

BCBGeneration “Abbina” Sandals

BCBGeneration brings us the “Abbina” sandals clearly inspired by Givenchy’s designer version. BCBG upped the platform height and swapped the ribbon for leather. Similar style, same strong statement.

Real vs. Steal – Miu Miu Rivet Sandals

by Celine on April 15, 2010

Update: This post has been updated on April 15, 2010. Scroll down to see the new add.

Do you guys remember when Sex and the City the movie came out and everyone went gaga (including myself) for Carrie’s Dior gladiator sandals? Those heels were amazing. I love that look of a pump with studs or embellishment; they’re like jewels for your feet. These Miu Miu Rivet sandals are equally as awe-inspiring. I’m such a fan of the deep chestnut color and the brushed silver studs. They retail for $795 and that is way out of my budget. So we began the search for a cheaper version.

Dolce Vita “Saber” Peep-Toe Pumps

UPDATE (04/11/2010): Found this great though somewhat pricey Miu Miu knockoff by Dolce Vita via The Look 4 Less. Available in black or brown.

Vince Camuto “Mabel” Sandals

Look at these sandals. Now scroll back up to the Miu Mius. Aside from the color and maybe a *slightly* lower heel, can you see any discrepancies? I can’t. Vince Camuto has created an amazing knock-off of the Miu Mius. They have almost every detail down perfectly – including the stud swirls! At about half the SALE price of the originals, I say these are a must have. Also available in black.

AmiClubWear Peep Toe Stud Heels

Now if you’re looking for a super affordable version of the Miu Miu Rivet sandals, why not try these heels by AmiClubWear? At $25.99 they’re lacking some of the pretty, delicate details that the original pair have but they’re still very cute and that 5 inch heel will make your legs look miles long. If you’re checking out these shoes on the retailer’s site, make sure to click on the thumbnail where we see the model’s legs. The other pics show a slightly distorted image. These are also available in black, cream and grey, but act quickly as only limited sizes are left.

New Look Studded Cut Out Platforms

UK retailer, New Look, has offered up a slightly more streamlined pair of platform pumps. The studs are there but they left out the swirly patterns. Still, it’s pretty clear where they pulled their inspiration from – the silhouette is virtually identical to the Miu Mius. The price, however, is not. These will only set you back about $34 or £25. Available both in the black, pictured here, and cream.

Occasionally I’ll take a look in my shoe closet (only occasionally, it’s a scary place) and realize that while I have a lot of trendy shoes, I lack some fundamental classics. I’ve been out of high-school for 11 years (moving right along) but funnily enough this morning I woke up thinking about proms and what I would wear today if given the opportunity. Well I haven’t figured out the dress part just yet, but I think these Badgley Mischka Harrow Slingback Satin Sandals would do quite nicely on my feet. A classic, simple yet beautiful shoe with a high heel but not too high that you can’t dance in them. Perfection if you ask me. Now at $169 (on sale now for $132) these are on the lower end of the price scale (considering we feature many pairs that retail for upwards of $500), but for all our high-schoolers that’s probably still a little steep.

rsvp “Ellie” Satin Sandals

OK, let’s be honest here. Even if you CAN afford the Badgley Mischkas, why would you even consider them when these rsvp “Ellie” sandals look virtually identical? The heel looks maybe a smidge lower but otherwise it is the same shoe, at less than half the price. Even more good news? They also come in navy, dark silver, ivory and white satin, which means there’s a pair to match any dress you might have. I’m thinking the white satin would make a fierce bridal pump too!
