Alright, let’s talk Gucci again. I know we’ve already featured the “Princetown” loafer mules here on this blog before, but that was just the basic, no-frills version and ever since the huge success of the “Princetown” loafer, Gucci has released like a gazillion variations of new Princetowns, so we felt obligated to show you at least one more of the most coveted Princetown styles. This blog post will focus on the floral embroidered one which features a delicate pink rose embroidery on the vamp and either comes with a fur trim on the footbed ($1.050) or not ($780). If you can afford the real deal, by all means, go for it since there are absolutely no signs of the loafer mule trend slowing down this summer. But if you’re on a tight budget and dropping that kind of money on ONE pair of shoes is simply not justifiable to you, keep on reading as we’ve discovered some amazing Gucci alternatives that won’t break the bank.

Vintage Havana Rose Mules

Let’s start off with my favorite Gucci Princetown dupes! They’re by a brand called Vintage Havana and look almost identical to the pricey Princetowns, but cost only $48 which is exactly $732 cheaper than the real deal. Now that’s a steal deal, right? Some sizes are already out of stock, so you better hurry if you want a pair!

They’re not an identical dupe, but close enough to get you the coveted Gucci look and all that for the budget price of $89 which is absolutely awesome! Make sure to use the promo code above to save an extra 20% on these loafer slides which would lower the price of these darlings down to an even budget-friendlier $71.20. Score!

Another one of my absolute favorites are these spot-on Princetown dupes by Ego which also come in nude and white faux leather (perfect color choice for Spring and Summer). Silent D “Ganthon” Rose-Embroidered Slide Loafers

If you’re willing to invest in a pair of quality designer dupes, check out these fab loafer slides by Silent D. They have noticeable differences to the real deal such as the rose embroidery and the horsebit detail, but the overall design still exudes that luxe Gucci Princetown look. Made of genuine leather and available in either navy or nude. Price: $124.99.

LaRosa Embroidered Slip-On Loafer Mules

And lastly, here’s a Gucci Princetown look-alike made of genuine leather for under $60! I found this dupe while browsing Amazon recently, the brand is called LaRosa and the loafer mules come in either black or white. I can’t personally vouch for this brand as I think these Gucci dupes are from one of those many generic China-based copycat sellers, but judging by the pictures, the quality looks decent for $59.99.

Self-Portrait. How could we have possibly missed out on covering this new and super coveted brand for so long? Sorry about that, folks. But before we head into showing you our best Self-Portrait steal finds, here are a few facts about the contemporary fashion label: it was founded in 2013 by Han Chong (also former creative director of Three Floor) and quickly gained red carpet and social media buzz shortly after, landing dress gigs with celebrities such as Reese Witherspoon and Miranda Kerr as well as personal style bloggers like Chiara Ferragni (The Blonde Salad) and Kristina Bazan (Kayture). The signature aesthetic of the London-based brand are feminine, romantic dresses and separates with lots of lace, embroidery and sheer overlays which have a surprisingly appealing price point: Dresses typically fall in the $500-$600 price range. And while I honestly applaud Han Chong for wanting to create a mid-priced fashion label with lots of attention to detail, $480 is still a lot of money for a lot of people (even though I’ll admit the “Azaelea” dress, which by the way got silently renamed correctly to “Azalea” in the meantime, thus probably referring to the flower, pictured below looks like it’s worth every penny of it). Keep on reading to find various stylish Self-Portrait dress alternatives for much less.

Another gorgeous Self-Portrait Azaelea alternative is this lace midi dress by H&M. It’s currently only available in yellow (also comes in white and rose pink now), but it does look lovely and so similar to the real deal, right? I know $129 seems oddly expensive for an H&M dress, but be rest assured, I actually ordered this dress myself and it is definitely worth the money, the fit is flattering and the quality is good. LuLu*s Pinnacle of Prestige Lace Midi Dress

If you can’t afford spending half a grand on a flirty summer dress, here’s our best steal find (yet!) which I discovered at LuLu*s some time ago. And I would’ve showed you this lovely $64 lace midi dress some time ago already, but it kept selling out so fast – restock after restock – that I didn’t even have enough time to finish up this blog post before this dress was completely sold out again, so I patiently waited until it got restocked for what feels like the tenth time now and for the first time it didn’t sell out in the first 60 minutes. Yay! However, this dress is obviously still wildly popular, so I wouldn’t wait too long with buying. Who knows if it’ll be restocked for an eleventh time?

Persun Flower Embellished Cami Dress

And of course, where there’s a trend Asian copycats can’t be too far away. The design of the Persun midi lace dress is very close to the real deal (including the colors), but I can’t tell for sure whether the quality is worth paying $37.99 for.

Similar dress options are also available by Choies & Jessica Buurman.

Free People South Of The Equator Midi Dress

OK, now this Self-Portrait steal find kind of irritates me. Don’t get me wrong: I love Free People and I looooove designer dupes. But what I don’t understand is how you can blatantly copy a $480 dress and then sell your own copied version for a whopping $300 (now on sale for $69.95), thus making both dresses compete in the same price range? Now that’s a little shameless, isn’t it? Even for blatant copycats. Anyway, I still wanted to include this dress option because it does look a lot like the real deal and it is in fact still $180 $380 cheaper than the original, so if you’re OK with paying that much money for a copycat design, feel free to do so.

When it comes to sunglasses I have no strict budget policy because I’m slightly obsessed with sunglasses and both own designer shades priced upwards of $200 as well as super cheap $5 sunnies I randomly picked up at souvenir shops and pretty much everything in between. I like to have a large variety to choose from and will often buy designer dupes first before I later decide to splurge on the real deal if I happen to fall in love with a particular designer style. Opting for cheap sunglasses is often a smart choice because you don’t want to be constantly worrying about breaking your favorite $300 designer shades or getting them stolen at the beach or a fun festival weekend. Now let’s talk about these fabulous Céline sunglasses. I think I have confessed my love for Céline eyewear before and these “Tilda” sunnies are my latest obsession! I feel like I’ve mostly worn round cat-eye shapes lately, so I’m craving a change and these super square sunnies are a refreshing new style and would be a great addition to my ever-growing sunglass collection! I just love how big and masculine they are yet they seem to be universally flattering on almost any head shape. They definitely have the potential to become my latest pair of designer sunglasses. But before I spend $250 on them, first I’ll need to figure out whether this is just a momentary fling or an eternal love that could last a lifetime.

After writing this blog for more than 9 years and scouring the internet for designer dupes even longer, I hardly raise an eyebrow anymore whenever I come across a budget brand or fast-fashion chain copying a high fashion designer. But when designers – with very similar price points – copy amongst each other? Baffling! Which is exactly how I felt when I recently stumbled upon a pair of frayed satin slides by Stuart Weitzman. I knew I had seen that same style somewhere before, but I couldn’t quite put my finger on where. So after a few days I have almost already forgotten about it when I accidentally saw the Gianvito Rossi‘s “Barth” Sandal which looks so much alike, they’re basically designer shoe twins. Both have the same design, the same details, the same fabric and the same color! The prices, however, are somewhat different, but still close enough together to be both considered luxury shoes with Rossi’s sandals costing $645 and Weitzman’s version being priced at $375. I can’t tell who is copying whom though since I don’t know who came out first with their shoe style. Anyway, both sandals are absolutely fabulous and right on trend with the soft pink tone and the silky satin upper, so you can either go with your personal preference or your bank account because style-wise it’s a close tie between these two.

Christian Louboutin has done a lot of extreme and fetish-like shoes in the last couple years, but my favorites would have to be Louboutin’s “simpler”, more classic creations. Just like the “Alta Rita” pictured below. A paramount example for a perfect evening/bridal shoe: sparkly and glamorous yet not too distracting and with a feminine and elegant shape and a heel that is high but not impossibly so. I absolutely love how Kate Bosworth paired hers with a beautiful white Chanel frock. Such a classy look!
