I simply call these cat-eye sunnies by Pradathe blogger shades” because I’ve already spotted them numerous times on a bunch of fab personal style bloggers and a few celebrities such as model at large, Miranda Kerr, too. And I can totally see why these sunglasses are so highly coveted: they are the perfect symbiosis between cat-eye and oversized, bold in shape, but minimalistic in design. I feel like they’re an updated version of those retro cat eye sunglasses from the 50s. And like so many before me, I, too, fell hopelessly in love with these sunnies. So, after a few months of contemplation, I finally gave in and bought them (with prescription lenses, a first for me). And what can I say? They’ve been my favorite pair of sunglasses ever since! Totally worth the money (of course, I made sure to get a good deal on them and bypassed paying retail). No buyer’s remorse whatsoever.

Reinventing denim is not an easy task, but somehow the fashion industry manages to come up with new trends and variations season after season. A few trends from the last couple years have been: distressed/destroyed, ombré, floral print and pastels for example. Star print has been quite popular lately as well (we have written about Current/Elliott‘s star printed denim shorts here). Last year they also released a super chic semi-sheer star-print skinny jean which I loved! The print instantly adds interest to the outfit and takes this jeans from plain ordinary to fashionably chic. But $220? Designer denim sure isn’t for everyone’s wallet.

InStyle’s July issue features some of the best shorts of the season, but they must not have seen this patriotic pair by Current/Elliott! The classic wash and length makes them incredibly versatile, not to mention how cute the subtle sandblasted star pattern is when paired with a simple t-shirt and flat sandals. But if wearing denim shorts all summer long isn’t the most practical for your lifestyle, perhaps you could invest in a less expensive pair to wear during all your 4th of July festivities. Scroll down to see our best find yet!

Lucky Brand “Riley” Star-Print Frayed Shorts

Now that you’ve seen this pair by Lucky Brand, and have stars in your eyes, what will the rest of your outfit look like? You’ve got so many great options! I’d suggest starting with a knit top or blouse in a personally flattering shade of red, dark blue or gray and add accessories in your favorite metallic shade. Maybe it’s an armful of silver bangles or perhaps some thin gold hoops? Either way, it’s best to select more understated pieces to keep the look elegant and not costumey. Lastly, finish the outfit with some nautical-inspired wedges, boat shoes or your favorite causal footwear… and most importantly, relax and have fun!

I was never a huge fan of jewelry up until a few years ago because I would always feel bothered and constrained in movement when there were earrings dangling from my ears or bracelets clattering on the table. Ever since becoming a fashion blogger however, I have made my peace with the inconveniences of jewelry and even grew very fond of it. My jewelry collection nowadays is not to be scoffed at, but I’m still missing Tiffany & Co. in my jewelry drawers. This bracelet from Tiffany’s “T”-Collection would be a great starter piece for example because it’s both versatile and modern and can be either worn alone or as part of an arm party. Too bad the price tag of $5.200 is killing all my jewelry dreams though.
