In Kim Kardashian’s Closet – Sass & Bide Heart Breaker Dress

by Vahni on April 24, 2010

Don’t go breakin’ my heart…Kimmy! But she did. Double heartbreak, in fact. First, the *swoon* Sass & Bide Heart Breaker Dress, second, the shoot in Sydney, my old haunt. Sigh. Oh well. I already adore Kim Kardashian, but my love deepened when Kimmy hit Aussie soil and promptly made a beeline for Sass & Bide—she’s been photographed all over Sydney town in various S&B S/S 2010 creations.

Didn’t I tell you that S&B was part of what made my previous life Down Unda worth living? It’s true. One of the great exports of Australia, I say. And isn’t Kim absolutely frockalicious in this number? As they say in Oz, good on ya, mate!

Oh god, I’m always so torn when I see Kim Kardashian. She has one of the most gorgeous faces ever…but that big, fleshy, bottom heavy body of hers can make ANY outfit look just plain ghetto and stretched to within a hair of tearing at the seams. That fantastic little dress looks great on the model…NOT on Kim.

  • Jessie

    I disagree, valentino.

Kim has one of the hottest bodies out, and i believe that that dress wouldn’t look as good on a thin model, i mean-look at the pics? the model vs kim. ah..na da.. KIMMM! SO HAWT.

  • NikNak

I agree w/ Jessie. That model makes that dress look awful. Like, I can’t understand why that made THAT person a model for the dress. She looks ill.

Anywho, Kim Kardashian makes the dress look sexy. I love it.

  • Valentina

Jessie, BTW it’s ValentinA not ValentinO. You are certainly entitled to your opinion, as I am to mine. I just happen to be of the opinion that Kim needs to peel off about 15-20 lbs. hit the gym for some serious cardio and be more lean and toned. She looks like a sloppy, cellulite-laden, chubby pig to me. I mean even my husband makes oinking noises when he sees her.

  • Ishtar

valentina, she looks hot what are u talking about????

  • Wow, these photos have obviously sparked a lot of debate. While we are all entitled to our opinions, I think it’s important to remember that women come in all shapes and sizes, and that not everyone is genetically able to be supermodel thin, whether they want to be or not. That said, I’m sure there are many women out there that would do anything to be able to look like Kim Kardashian, even if only for a day.

To call Kim a “sloppy, cellulite-laden, chubby pig” is not only grossly insensitive, it’s grossly inaccurate. While we value readers’ comments here on ITC, I hope in future we can all be a little more mindful and appreciative of the fact feminine beauty comes in endless colors and varieties. And if that doesn’t work, imagine how you would feel if someone wrote that about you, your daughter, your sister, your best friend, or your mother.

  • Word! @Vahni.

These are really harsh words, Valentina. While I might not approve of Kim Kardashian’s VIP status (for once, what is it that makes her so famous? What kind of value does she provide to the world apart from putting her name under dieting products and clothing lines? but that’s a completely other story, sorry), I think Kim has come a long way in developing her own style which does not include a pair of Juicy Couture sweatpants or a skin-tight Hervé Léger dress.

Body-wise she looks A-class to me. I adore curvy everyday girls just as much as a stick-thin runway model like Anja Rubik for instance (provided that she looks healthy). Sloppy? Can’t understand that either. Every time Kim steps out she is followed by paparazzi and still she looks always very well put together (hair + make-up are always done and I hardly see her in any other footwear than high heels). Chubby pig? Really? Do you live in Anorexiaville?

As Vahni put it rightly – here on ITC we do value comments and encourage reader input, but there’s a distinct line between negative criticism – which is as welcome here as glorious adoration – and being simply insulting which I think you were in your last comment. I really wish women would ease up on being so judgmental about other women’s body images and appreciate the vast variety of our all outer appearances.

I will not censor your comment just because I cringe at the thought of censorship even if it’s so utterly deconstructive, BUT this as much as I am willing to take here on this blog. After all, this is a blog about having fun with fashion, not judging other people’s bodies.

  • Valentina

Really Irina? Anybody thinner than Kim K. lives in Anorexiaville? Ok, I get it, the thin, fit girls are not allowed to have an opinion or we get accused of having an eating disorder. Fine, I’ll leave you people on this site. Keep telling yourselves that Kim looks ‘sexy’ as you shove another donut in your mouths. Bye!

  • Valentina, no, I don’t think people thinner than Kim are anorexic and as you can read in my previous comment I stated that I adore runway models just as much as women like Catherine Zeta Jones, Monica Belluci or Christina Hendricks. But if you’re going to label women like Kim who are at a perfectly normal, healthy weight as “chubby pigs” I think you have a distorted view on body image.

Your donut remark was rude, absolutely unnecessary and shows a lack of objective debating skills. You don’t have to agree with us and as long as you’re not insulting other people you’re more than welcome to comment, but stay on topic (fashion!) and keep it friendly (I highly doubt you’d ever walk up to a stranger and tell her/him straight in the face: “Hey, I think you’re a sloppy, cellulite-laden, chubby pig! Oink, oink!”). If you can not abide by these rules: Bye as well!

So…less focus on who’s wearing them and more about that gorgeous dress!!! Are there any cheaper look-a-likes? I would love to have that dress but it’s worth more than my rent.

  • Marsha3

Kim may not be fat but I do agree that she makes expensive clothes look cheap since she works the whole tranny hooker thing. Hey Kim stick to wearing Bebe and leave the haute stuff to Starlets and folks who are actually famous for having talent, not for famewhoring and calling their own press releases for supermarket tabloids.

  • Tania

They both look hot and i love this dress. I have to get one it is just so flattering another great design by Sass and Bide.
