Real vs. Steal – Hervé Léger Fabiana Cork Ankle Boots

by Celine on June 19, 2010

I am a girl who enjoys a high heel, but I’m going to come right out and say it: how does one walk around in these “Fabiana” Cork Ankle Boots by Hervé Léger? Oh, they are works of art, to be sure, but I could just see myself awkwardly teetering over in these until eventually my face and the pavement became friends. Of course the Fabianas are sold out, though. I imagine rich women everywhere bought them up by the armful, only to admire them sitting quietly in their closets.

Now this is more like it. This is a high heel I can manage (albeit not for en extended period of time). See that thick platform in the front? That’s what makes these Luichiny babies more wearable than their architecturally unsound, although astoundingly beautiful Hervé Léger cousin. These platforms differ from the originals, but they have the same general feel. I also love that these have a peep-toe – mama just can’t seem to get enough of her peep-toe booties. Yes, yes, she knows that she will one day be looked back upon as a fashion disaster, but she lives in the moment! OK, back to the shoe. If natural isn’t your thing, these are also available in black and brown.

  • I actually like the steal better. 😀

Totally agree. The hardware on the steal is more attractive.

love your site…I actually bought these recently in black. I plan on wearing them with my fedora or whatever. I totally agree with you on the peeptoe bootie…I’m just saying there is no way that this trend will even make it through next year, but when the toes are freshly done there is just nothing like it….Also, I don’t know if anyone can help me with this or not, but I am kinda struggling with what to wear with these. I’m a new mom and going to bday brunch soon. Wish me luck.
