Real vs. Steal – Giuseppe Zanotti E20165 Sculpted T-Strap Sandals

by Juliana on September 13, 2012

Update: This post has been updated on September 12, 2012. Scroll down to see the new adds.

Who ever thought that a pair of shoes could be an architectural masterpiece? These spectacular heels by Giuseppe Zanotti seem to defy gravity with the help of an expertly crafted cantilever platform. They are designed to perfection, especially because if any part of them was off balance, let’s just say it wouldn’t be a pretty scene on the red carpet. I love how Julianne Hough wears hers with a modern, form-fitting black dress. Not to mention the gown’s slit strategically draws attention to her impossibly long legs and statement-making heels. Don’t quite have a celebrity’s wardrobe budget for fall? Not to worry, we’ve got a wonderful alternative for you below that will simply blow you away.

Chinese Laundry “Controversy” Curved-Wedge T-Strap Sandals

So this look-a-like by Chinese Laundry is a bit closer to my budget and design-wise, incredibly close to the original. The platform is a little longer and not as severe, but with less expensive shoes it is really best to get that extra square footage to provide you with better balance. I’d wear these in beige with a feminine dress in a fabric that flows, like chiffon, to offset the platform’s strong lines and structured feel. Then simply add a few well-placed, striking accessories with architecturally inspired details. If you love the black pair, think about possibly wearing them with a 3/4 sleeve minidress in a solid color and keep accessories limited to one geometric piece and a sleek clutch.
