Real vs. Steal – Elizabeth and James Cal Wedges

by Vahni on February 6, 2011

UPDATE: This post has been updated on February 06, 2011. Scroll down to the new add.

So you hate looking like one of the crowd. For avant garde shoes, clothing, and accessories, look no further than Elizabeth and James — the quirky, lower-end line launched by wondertwins Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen. The Cal Wedges below are a great example of the type of shoe you can expect from this label: functional, but kind of like a wearable piece of abstract art.

UPDATE (02/06/2011): Just happened to stumble upon this almost identical E&J look-a-like by Miss Me. Available in pewter, bronze & silver.

Rosegold “Shawna” Wedge Booties

Yes, I did write “lower-end” when I referred to the $354 Elizabeth and James wedges above, and technically they are; the Olsens have another line, The Row, which has significantly higher price points. So how lucky are we that Rosegold has its own even lower-end version of the Cal: “Shawna” Wedge Booties. They’re are a great investment for Spring 2010, because they incorporate two trends from the shows in one statement-making sandal: neutrals like beige and drab olive, and the arty wedge. Available in beige and black.

Definitely with you on this one, lamia. I also prefer the color of the Rosegold version. They don’t have any other differences though ;)
