I’ve always liked Michael Kors watches and have been wanting one for years, but they became so overly popular in the last two years that I didn’t really feel like being one of the many trend sheep following this hype. However, Kors has recently created a fabulous new charity capsule collection called “Watch Hunger Stop” where every sold watch equals 100 meals delivered to children in need. Apart from being absolutely in love with the gold-turquoise color combo and the world map face, I love the idea that by gifting this watch (e.g. for the upcoming christmas), you are also doing good to the world. Perfect gift idea, don’t you agree?
Michael Kors has joined forces with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) to fight global hunger. For every sale of the 100 Series watch, WFP will deliver 100 meals to children in need. The support so far has been overwhelming. Thanks to you, we have already delivered over 1 million meals around the world.

Schutz have really caught my attention lately. Their new S/S 2013 collection is chock full of pretty shoes and I especially have fallen in love with those lasercut lace up heels shown below. Aren’t they just stunning? So delicate and feminine but also with a bit of an edge. At $230, these aren’t the cheapest of shoes, but the exquisite craftmanship is worth the investment in my opinion.

I recently realized that I haven’t announced a new “Heel of the Day” since last May which was mainly due to me feeling a little uninspired by last year’s shoes. 2013 seems to be off to a better start though because I already discovered an amazing shoe that I instantly fell in love with. When I saw these nautical themed striped ankle strap sandals by Alice + Olivia I knew I had to show them to you, too! Since I’m a big fan of stripes and love all things nautical it shouldn’t come as a surprise that I am totally enamored with these cute red, navy, white heels. And how beautiful are all those little details like the small gold plattform or the knot on the vamp? I also love the sleek stiletto heel on these as it takes these shoes from cute to sexy. Just wish they’d be cheaper! Sigh!

So isn’t it quite obvious why I chose these DV by Dolce Vita patent-leather platform pumps as today’s Heel of the Day? Because they look so darn good! And because they remind me of Brian Atwood’s super coveted “Maniac” pump and the pink patent version with the gold bow on the vamp gives off an Alexander McQueen vibe. Also on the plus side: they’re real leather and cost a little under $90 which is quite a helper when you’re a shoe fanatic on a budget. What do you think?
