Floral print is EVERYWHERE and on EVERYTHING right now. We’re seeing it on pants and denim, skirts, tops, dresses, accessories. And while I do love anything with a flower print on apparel I’m not 100% sure whether I love floral printed shoes just as much because I usually prefer clear lines and clear patterns on my footwear. However, these Dollhouse floral espadrille platforms sure are attention grabbers – & in a good way I think. These would look great with a summery white dress or solid colored capri pants, especially the bright pink or turquoise version. What do you think? Monsieur Christian Louboutin transports us back into the 70′s with his groovy “Super Dombasle” cork platforms. Well, describing these just as platforms might be a slight understatement. SUPER MEGA BADASS PLATFORMS would be more fitting, I guess. I don’t know whether I would be daring enough to rock these 6 inchers, but I sure love the bright turquoise suede on these and cork shoes are ideal spring/summer shoes.

Real vs. Steal – Stella McCartney Maia Cork Platform Wedges

I’m a big fan of Stella McCartney! Very much like with Prada and Miu Miu I might not approve of EVERYTHING that is shown on the runways, but when I find myself liking something from these designers chances are high I really, really LOVE it. Case in point: Stella’s “Maia” cork wedge from last year. Despite the remote resemblance of Birkenstock shoes I am still highly attracted to this wedge. Also, how genius is the pink lining? It’s small details like these that can turn a good shoe into a truly great one. What’s not so great about it? Oh yeah, I forgot… the steep price of $735. Also the fact that it’s sold out.

Thanks to BCBGeneration, we can now rock our own Stella McCartney wedges for a fraction of the price. Their “Crespo” wedge sandal is an almost identical copy of the “Maia” even though I wish it had the same hot pink lining as the original. But at $71.99 I am not one to complain. Real vs. Steal – Chloé Penelope Wedge Sandals

Menswear is ultimately my favorite trend, but the femininity of these Chloé wedges is irresistible. Though they may have a feminine touch, you can wear them in a multitude of ways including menswear aesthetic. The bow tie adds just the right amount of dynamism between it and the design, without distracting from the simplistic beauty of the shoe. This would be a very fashion-worthy splurge if they were in my budget. As I am not able to invest in Chloé wedges, the steal below is a splendid alternative.

Steve Madden earns the role of a hero when it comes to imitating designs from very lavish labels, hence Chloé. First off, I have to mention my affinity for these shoes because I simply cannot find a single flaw about them. The wedge height is stellar, and so is every other detail! They are lacking the bow detail, but the buckle makes a wonderful substitute and really adds a casual element. If I have yet to convince you, check them out in a variety of tones such as natural, black, and brown.
