Shoes

Two more weeks until Valentine’s Day and while I’m not particularly excited about V-Day itself (all the single ladies!), I do like any opportunity that allows me to dress up and act all flirty about it. When dressing up, my personal motto is: “Drama, drama, drama!”, that’s why this black off-the-shoulder midi dress by Bardot with its body-con silhouette and the dramatic bell sleeves instantly caught my attention. I immediately started styling this LBD in my head and style-wise it felt like my mind ran in 100 different directions. There are a lot of ways to style this versatile dress and I decided to pick three for you to show: bold, romantic and just plain cute. So if you need some outfit inspiration for your own Valentine’s Day attire, feel free to check out my V-Day look suggestions and let me know whether you like them or not.

Before you start wondering whether these oversized bow sandals somehow look familiar: yes, they are obviously inspired by the highly popular Aminah Abdul Jillil Bow Pumps which we have featured in the past except these here are open-toed which I personally find equally charming. The rest is pretty much spot-on identical; including design, color and material. And while $130 for such a beautiful shoe is not what I’d call exactly expensive, we did manage to find an even more budget-friendly alternative which looks just like the Betsey Johnson version but is $90 cheaper. The only noticeable difference is that the heel on the Betseyvilles is straight while the Betsey Johnsons have more of a flared heel. Anyway, which bow sandal would you choose and why? Cheap or cheaper? Let us know in the comments.

So, lace-up flats. You probably won’t get around them this summer. First, we started with Aquazzura’s pointy “Christy” flats and today we present you yet another gorgeously delicate example: “Leo” by Isabel Marant, an eyelet-embellished ballet flat with intricate lace-up design and scalloped edges for a soft and feminine look. It seems like high heels may have to take a summer vacation this summer because the fashion blogosphere has gone cuckoo for sophisticated flats this season.

JC’s “Prudence” is astonishingly similar to Isabel Marant’s “Leo” flats, but costs $400 less than the real deal. A few sizes are already sold out, so be fast if you want Isabel Marant chic 4 less!

Now that Christmas is only 2 days away I know you’re probably super busy shopping for last minute gifts (guilty as charged!), wrapping presents and finalizing your Christmas menu, but there’s always some time to appreciate a beautiful shoe, right? This red suede fringed block-heel beauty by Aquazzura might look familiar as we’ve featured its 4″ stiletto heel sibling in a previous Real vs. Steal post. But as much as we love a sky-high stiletto high-heel shoe, even the comfiest of them still isn’t comfy. Wearing high heels is painful, often exhausting, sometimes even downright dangerous (hello, cobblestone pavement!), so I’m super happy to see mid-heeled block-heels taking the wheel in the footwear trend scene right now. Because happy feet = happy me! And these Aquazzura sandals are a prime example that show that block-heeled shoes can look just as sexy and beautiful as their high-heeled counterparts. Too bad these beauties cost a whopping $785 though! Luckily, we’ve found a few budget-friendly alternatives that will give you the designer look for a fraction of the price.

Update (01/28/2017): Stumbled upon another lovely Aquazzura Wild Thing City alternative today! “Aisha” by Spurr looks a lot like the real deal, comes in 3 colors (coral, black and pink blush microsuede) and costs $59.95 AUD!

Athena Alexander “Saige” Fringed Ankle Wrap Sandals

May I introduce you to “Saige” by Athena Alexander? A gorgeous and spot-on Aquazurra Wild Thing City dupe available in either red, grey or black faux suede for $97.95. No need to spend $800 if you can have the exact same designer look for under $100, right?

Kaitlyn Pan Fringed Suede Lace-Up Tassel Block Heel Sandals

My favorite Aquazzura Wild Thing alternative however is this one by Kaitlyn Pan. Why? Well, first off: it’s just as spot-on as the Athena Alexander version, but it is made of genuine suede and also costs $13 less ($84.99). Plus, the available colors (red, blue = my fave, tan and black) are absolutely gorgeous, too.

I don’t know exactly when and why, but over the last few years heeled ankle boots have become my personal shoe kryptonite. For some reason, I don’t seem to be able to let a month go by without buying a new pair of ankle boots. I’ll usually go for pairs-with-everything black, but occasionally my “adventurous” side will get the better of me and I’ll opt for a softer, less safe shade like tan, taupe or grey. So when I first saw these beautiful, neutral-colored suede ankle boots by Saint Laurent, I was instantly smitten. They’re casual and cool, complementing and blending effortlessly into any day-to-day outfit. Long story short: Saint Laurent’s “Blake” bootie is pretty much the perfect ankle boot – EVER! But it’s also pretty expensive at $895.

Celebrities Love Saint Laurent

Celebs such as Kendall Jenner and her BFF Gigi Hadid as well as Alessandra Ambrosio and Rita Ora have all been spotted wearing Saint Laurent Blake Suede Ankle Boots.

Sole Society “Leo” Suede Ankle Boots

Luckily, we’ve found a dead-on “Blake” dupe for you! Sole Society‘s “Leo” looks just like the Saint Laurent boot with the exception that it costs only a fraction of the real deal. The retail price for the Sole Society version used to be $109.95, but it’s currently on sale for half off! Now that’s what we call a real steal deal, so you better get advantage of this awesome deal while it’s still available! At this price I’d get them in all three colors!

Mango “Alba” Buckle Ankle Boots

Another fitting Saint Laurent alternative would have to be these tan suede ankle boots by Mango which may not be an identical “Blake” dupe, but are still close enough to give you the same laidback designer look. Bonus: these, too, are currently on sale for less than $60! Yay!
