I’m always on the fence whether it’s worth splurging on designer shoe staples or not? Take this pointed black pump by Saint Laurent for example. It is basically a simple black pump without any outstanding features and I’m sure there are dozens of similar looking shoes that are way cheaper than $625. Yet when I look at how the pumps look worn, it becomes clear to me that these shoes – even though they don’t have any distinctive features that make these pumps stand out – are designed to absolute perfection. From the arch to the supple leather and the perfectly shaped heel… and let’s not forget about the craftmanship of designer shoes made in Italy. If I had $625 free to spend and would be in need of black pumps, these Saint Laurent heels would be my choice!

Jeffrey Campbell “Dulce” Pointed Toe Pumps

Alright, I get that most of us don’t have budgets that allow a $625 shoe purchase, that’s why I would like to introduce you to these just as fab pumps by Jeffrey Campbell. It’s so unusual to see such a simple shoe design coming from Campbell since they’ve been mostly doing OTT shoes for the last few years, but these simple black high heel pumps are a nice, refreshing change. I absolutely love the elegant design of these Jeffrey Campbell pumps and the shape is so similar to that of the Saint Laurent heels. Available in black and yellow leather as well as gray and red suede.

I’m not very aware of who Bella Thorne is (apparently she’s an actress, dancer, singer and model who rose to fame through the Disney Channel), but she certainly caught my attention when she wore a beautiful emerald green satin romper by Valentino to the Nickelodeon’s 27th Annual Kids’ Choice Awards recently which radiated against her soft flowy flame-red hair. Bella completed her look with gold accessories and matching pumps by Christian Louboutin. What an outfit, huh? I love every detail about it! Now I tried to find anything remotely similar to the emerald green satin romper, but unfortunately wasn’t successful in my quest. However, I then accidentally came across this super gorgeous bow wrap mini dress by Katie Ermilio and instantly had to think of Bella’s green Valentino romper. It certainly is a far cry from being affordable at $2.250, but I liked the dress so much I had to include it here anyway. What do you think? Hot or what?

After striped sunglasses, here we have a striped pair of pumps. Courtesy of Saint Laurent. You know I usually prefer to wear my beloved stripes on my clothes, but now that I’ve spotted these pretty heels here I certainly wouldn’t mind to sport them on my shoes either. What I really like about these pumps is the juxtaposition of the canvas fabric against the unexpectedly positioned angle of the stripes. But holy moly, have you seen the price tag? $695! Thanks, but I think I’ll have to pass this time.

Cosmopolitan “Elisa” High Heel Pumps

What I don’t have to pass on though are these just as good-looking stripey pumps by Cosmopolitan. They’re obviously not a total dupe of the Saint Laurent originals and have a few noticeable differences, the overall look however is just the same. Plus, the price is unbeatable: only $39.99! Now is that a steal or is that a steal?

Can we take a short moment here and gush a bit about the amazingness that was Elie Saab’s gorgeous S/S 2014 collection? It was such a beautiful and outstanding collection; there’s not one single thing I wouldn’t love wearing from that collection. I especially loved the floral print pieces like the cute little white shift dressls ($3.000) with the floral print on the bottom below. Such a lovely dress, don’t you agree? So imagine my delight when I spotted an almost identical frock at Choies for a steal price of under $40! I instantly had to recreate Elie Saab’s runway look on a budget level, do you like it?
