Don’t you love it when you find great-looking shoes which cost under $100 and then discover they’re pieces of art as well? Kind of what happened to me with these black wedge booties by ALICE9. I was browsing the shoe section at YesStyle when I spied these and thought: “Oh, these are cute.” – So I clicked, got to see a larger pic and gasped in excitement: “OMG! I need them in my life!” – The acrylic wedge works like an optical illusion. People will think you’re floating on air as the clear wedge becomes practically invisible for startled eyes from afar. Hats off to such unexpected and extraordinary details like these on $100 shoes. L.O.V.E.

Is it just me, or are there suddenly scores of wonderful wedges coming out of the woodwork? Like these swoontastic Crisscross Wedge Sandals from Givenchy? Don’t they look like they were designed especially for It girl Leigh Lezark?

Hey…Jane Aldridge stole my Mongolian lamb vest! To get back at her, I might have to steal her Barneys CO-OP Over-the-Knee Buckle Boots. Especially since they retailed for $740 and sold clean out. Of course, I’m kidding people. About the vest, at least. The boots did sell out, and there’s no reason to wonder why. Look how hot they are on Jane! Say what you will about this uber-famous bloggerista—but she’s got style in spades.

Thank goodness, there’s no need for any illegal activity should any of us want to channel Jane’s amazing looks above. In my last Heel of the Day post my choice fell on a pair of uber-cool chunky ankle boots. Today I’m going switching back to my feminine side and show you these sweet nautical-inspired striped bow pumps by KG by Kurt Geiger which I adore just as much. I grew up on the coast side so anything navy, red or striped is a win in my book. And did I mention they have a bow? A bow, people! Ultimate girliness.

Don’t tell anyone, but I’m a Kim Kardashian style stalker. It’s one of my (few) guilty pleasures. For some reason I have this weird fascination with whatever Kim K. wears; I need to identify it, recreate it or simply gush about it. Yup, you can call me strange. I guess Monica Rose, Kim’s stylist, does a very good job because I know I’m not the only one digging Kim’s newly evolved style.

How kickass are these shiny multi strap wedges by Givenchy? When I first saw the footwear collection for the S/S 2010 collection I was unsure if fast fashion chains would answer the call by replicating these extreme almost fetish-style shoes. But surprisingly a lot of them did and we’ve had several of the Givenchy shoes available for those on a lighter shoe shopping budget.

Black leather. A screamingly hot stiletto. Buckles. How do I love thee, Givenchy? Let me count the ways. One of my favorite trends of the last several years is the reintroduction and reinterpretation of the bootie. And Givenchy’s Slouchy Thong Ankle Boots are a winning pair, I must say.

Marciano “Milap” Booties
I’m sure there are thousands of working-class fashionistas who regularly fantasize about being able to plunk $1.150 down on a pair of booties, at-whim. Even if that fantasy never comes to fruition, you can still indulge your inner diva with the “Milap” Booties by Marciano. Like the Givenchy pair, they’re black, buckled, and bold—and while they’re no steal deal, $247.95 beats the hell out of more than a grand, don’t you think?

Brian Atwood shoes – one day I am going to buy me a pair. Definitely! Whatever he comes up with each season, I find myself loving it obsessively. Brian Atwood sure is one of the most talented and most promising shoe designers right now. The platform ankle below boots are one of the many, many reasons you gotta love him. They are perfection! So high, but oh so delicate.

Faith “Sorena” Platform Ankle Booties
These ankle boots by Faith instantly reminded me of the above Brian Atwood platforms and I think they would serve as a great alternative for British/European Brian Atwood lovers who you can’t spend that mush cash on the real deal. They are a little bit pricey at £120, but still a lot cheaper than the Brian Atwood booties. If you prefer a different color, the ankle boots also come in black and purple.

Drew Barrymore‘s outfit choices are as unpredictable as is her personality. And while she’s probably not the first who’d come to mind when thinking of a style icon, this outfit here I L.O.V.E. The actress made an appearance on Letterman to promote her newest film “Going The Distance“. Drew looked absolutely amazing in a bronze sequin top by Richard Chai with navy high-waisted Camilla and Marc pants and grey suede Yves Saint Laurent Trib Too pumps. I love how relaxed and glamourous she looks at the same time.
