We’ve already written multiple times about the items of Valentino‘s famed “Rockstud“-family and as you might remember, up until now I loved every single bag or shoe that came out with the unmistakably studded silhouette. However, when Valentino brought out a “kitten heel” version of their iconic Rockstud high heels, I wasn’t too impressed at first. Sure, I did love them from the front, but the side view? Not so much. Kitten heels just aren’t my cup of tea and probably will never be, but seeing them on the gorgeous bloggers and celebs below, at least I realized that there are women who can get away with wearing kitten heels (skinny girls with beautiful long legs specifically). What still kept me cringing about these kitten heels though is the hefty price tag of $995!

BCBG Paris “Darron” Studded Pointy Pumps

I’m so happy I stumbled upon this Valentino look-a-like heel by BCBG Paris the other day. Not only is it more than $900 cheaper, it also adds an extra 1 1/2 inches without being an overwhelmingly high heel at 3¾ inches. Obsessed³! Get this lovely designer dupe shoe before it sells out (and believe me, this one will go fast!).

G-small Studded Kitten Heels

If you’re really into the kitten heels of the Valentinos above though and are explicitly looking for kitten heels, these here by G-small are pretty much identical but don’t have the designer shoe price tag. Steal deal alert!

As much as I love the vintage look of these classic patent leather t-strap pumps by Gucci, I have a hard time seeing myself shell out more than $700 for such a simple shoe design. And I guess most of you are with me on this. Luckily, I found a few nice (and budget-friendly) alternatives that won’t break the bank.

Office “Selina” T-Bar Pointy Pumps

My favorite steal are these almost identical t-bar heels which I’ve come across at Office. The design is really close to the Gucci pumps, but the price is so much nicer at £65 (approx. $105). Available in black and nude patent leather.

Adrienne Vittadini “Cecelia” T-Strap Pumps

If you prefer a lower heel, then these Adrienne Vittadini t-strap pumps would be a great alternative to the Gucci shoes above. Currently on sale for under $50 and also available in various other colors.

Let’s talk about wedges for a moment. Just how good are they? I mean, you can either eat or wear them. Pure genius! ;-) All (stale) jokes aside though, wedges are definitely a girl’s best friend. They are the best compromise between extra height and comfort. These slingback espadrille wedges by Céline are admittedly cute, but they don’t really make me want to spend almost $500 on them.

A few months ago reader Carolyn e-mailed us and asked whether we could find her an alternative for the gorgeous baby pink moto jacket that Blair from Atlantic-Pacific wore in one of her outfit posts in February this year. Of course we took to this quest and were able to find a few suitable pieces, but none that I was perfectly happy with. I e-mailed Carolyn, made my suggestions and checked her request off the list, but this casual-cool pink look of Blair’s has never really gotten out of my mind ever since. Fast forward months later until today when I, while doing my daily research for this blog, happened to stumble upon this beautiful baby pink coat by JOA which instantly reminded me of Blair’s Sister Jane moto jacket. And while it isn’t a perfect match in terms of shape, the baby pink color as well as the material seem to be absolutely spot-on. And since I totally fell in love with this coat, I just had to recreate Blair’s look with our usual budget-friendly take. Hope you like my style blogger look 4 less.

UPDATE: This post has been updated on August 28, 2014. Scroll down to see the new add.

We’ve seen a lot of colorblocking this year, mostly on clothes. Pierre Hardy incorporated this trend into his Fall 2011 collection which resulted in the blue-beige-rust colorblock suede sandals you see below. I do like the design, but the color combination is a little lackluster, don’t you agree? And this at $1.285!

Shoe Cult Buckle Up Platforms

UPDATE (08/27/2014): Oh, look. Almost 3 years after my first find, I happened to stumble upon this platform sandal by Nasty Gal’s own shoe label Shoe Cult. Available for $88 in either yellow or black faux suede.

Jeffrey Campbell “Dressen” Suede Platform Sandals

Now that’s more like it! Good old Jeffrey Campbell took the Pierre Hardy design and spiced it up with more vibrant colors. Still a bit pricey at almost $200 but so much cheaper than the original!
