Shoes

I know this may not be the best time to be posting about summer sandals now that we’re almost halfway through fall, but I just couldn’t pass up on showing you these effortlessly chic “Tribute” slides by (Yves) Saint Laurent. I have proclaimed my undying love for the “Tribute” platform high heel version in the past and I do still love it dearly, but let’s be real: 5 inch heels just aren’t always a viable footwear option (long beach strolls and cobblestone walks, anyone?). Hence a classic pair of flat sandals like these timeless slides will probably get the most mileage during any summer vacation, especially if you can just easily slide in and out of them and take a quick dip in the pool without having to deal with untying your shoes first. Ain’t nobody got time for that, right? What I also ain’t got though, are the $595 in order to make these gorgeous shoes mine. Someday maybe, but not today. So in the meantime I will have to settle for a look for less option.

Massimo Matteo “Tina” Slide Sandals

Fortunately, I have been lucky enough to come across these amazing and spot-on “Tribute” sandal slide dupes by Massimo Matteo! They come in various uppers and colors and look almost identical to the real deal. But the best part? They’re on sale for $55.99 (down from $79) which is less than 10% of the designer version! Now that’s what I call a real steal deal, my fellow budget-conscious fashionistas!

Dear “Pigalle“, I know you won’t like this, but there’s a new queen in town, her name is “So Kate” aka shoe perfection and she is probably Louboutin‘s hottest and most coveted style at the moment. One look at her and you will instantly understand why. The shiny black leather, the thinning stiletto heel, the perfectly shaped arch – everything about this shoe is just perfect! Plus, while the price of $675 sure isn’t exactly a bargain, compared to what other Louboutin styles are usually retailing for, these here are on the rather budget-friendlier side of the designer shoe price range. Which is also probably the reason why “So Kate” is constantly on the verge of selling out at nearly every e-tailer. Anyway, this beauty of a high heel has definitely taken the #1 spot on my current shoe wish list and until I have saved up the neccessary $675 to bring them home, I’ll settle for a less expensive Louboutin look-a-like in the meantime.

Steve Madden “Daisie” Stiletto Pumps

Update (04/19/2017): I also discovered these stiletto pumps by Steve Madden which actually more resemble Louboutin’s “Pigalle Folliesls” heels, but since both Louboutin styles are very similar in terms of design, the Maddens suit as an alternative here as well. Guoar Pointed-Toe Stiletto Pumps

Update (01/08/2017): Came across these Louboutin look-alikes by Guoar. These seem to be of the “Made in China”-kind of designer dupes, so you better don’t expect top noth quality here, but for $48 these might be a good So Kate alternative (customer reviews average a 4 star rating with plenty of self-submitted buyer’s photos, so you can make an informed buyer’s decision). What I really, really liked about these Loubie dupes though is the variety of colors these come in: 31 (either in faux patent, leather or suede). Love!

Kaitlyn Pan Pointed-Toe Stiletto High Heel Pumps

Update (07/13/2016): There’s also a fabulous So Kate dupe available by Kaitlyn Pan for $99 and which also comes in nude patent. The design is spot-on, it’s made of genuine leather and if you read the customer reviews for the brand’s other designer inspired shoes, you’ll know you’ve found yourself a good designer dupe with these Louboutin-like beauties. The only drawback (if you consider it to be one) is that the sole is pink instead of Louboutin’s signature red. But everything else looks exactly like Louboutin’s So Kate.

Satin and mules and especially satin mules have been a major shoe trend this year, so it’s no wonder we’re still seeing many brands picking up on this trend for their fall collecions. For me, the first noticeable attention to satin mules was brought by No. 21‘s satin high heel mules which looked so cool and avantgarde with their oversized front bow pleats. A few seasons later Miu Miu came out with a similar, more playful satin shoe style that had a thick round block heel and an added jewel brooch on the vamp. And while browsing the world wide web for new designer dupes today, I discovered what seems to be a hybrid of both the Miu Miu and the No. 21 shoe. “Fallyn” by Enzo Angiolini combines the best of both worlds for less than $80! It’s a gorgeous blush pink satin high heel mule with bow pleating and a cute jewel embellishment on the side, a fabulous and affordable love child of Miu Miu and No. 21 so to speak. And did I mention it also comes in blue and black satin? Such a stylish steal find!

Fall Trend – Velvet Crush

by Irina on September 30, 2017

Fall has officially arrived and so have my cravings for a wardrobe style update and anything pumpkin spiced. Velvet continues to be one of the major trends for the colder sweater weather season this year, especially in autumnal jewel tones like mustard, petrol blue, wine or purple. Dare to stand out in a statement velvet piece or wear multiple velvet items in one look. Here I’ve come up with an up-to-date Fall look based on two of my favorite velvet picks and included accessories that I think would work well with either one of the dresses. So what you do think? Is velvet still hot or are you totally over it by now? Let us know in the comments!

For someone who has always loved the delicacy of high heels and feminine silhouettes when it comes to shoes, lately I’ve been finding myself strangely gravitating more and more to tougher, more masculine footwear for some reason. So much so that I recently decided to take the plunge and went on to buy my very first pair of black, Doc Martens-like lace-up combat boots a few weeks ago and I’ve been obsessed with them ever since! I wear them with black skinny jeans, ripped denim, a flowy knit dress, a cute A-line skirt, you name it; everything seems to kind of work with these boots that will toughen up any look in an instant with their rough and functional design. And if you’ve been following this blog for a while, you’ll know I have a soft spot for everything Alexander McQueen. So how could I not love these super badass silver studded metal cap-toe boots? They’re definitely not for the faint of heart and certainly won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but I guess this is one of the main reasons I find myself so drawn to them! These heavy boots look like they could easily be part of a funky steampunk cosplay costume. But in a good way! Now that we’ve established the fabulousness of these boots – have you seen that price tag? $1.995! One grand per foot! Sadly, this kind of pricing doesn’t exactly fall into my personal shoe shopping bracket.

Jeffrey Campbell “Gustine” Studded Cap-Toe Boots

Jeffrey Campbell to the rescue! Now look at these stud-adorned combat lace-up boots here! Aren’t they just so crazy cool? I love the oversized buckles! They’re not identical dupes of the McQueen boots above, but certainly similar enough to double as a great, look for less designer alternative if you can’t afford or simply don’t want to spend 2k on a pair of boots. These darling here might not be a steal at $179.95, but they are over 90% cheaper than the real deal which – I would say – you could consider a steal deal in comparison! Some sizes are already sold out though, so you better be fast if you want to get ahold of these stylish studded biker boots!
