Red Carpet

A Marchesa lady is always belle of the ball… or in modern day, the red carpet. Sometimes it seems that there aren’t enough real-life appropriate occasions to wear one of their beautiful, feminine creations. If you find yourself in the ultimate black-tie situation, then a little Marchesa will most certainly get the job done – really well.

Kardashians by bebe Asymmetric Feather Dress

UPDATE (12/16/2010): Even though Bebe has made this dress all black it still won’t fool me into thinking this is an original design. The Marchesa inspiration is still very obvious to see through.

First things first: I’m so sorry for not having posted over the weekend, but I’ve been out of town for the weekend because of my cousin’s wedding, so that’s my lame excuse, OK? Anyway, I am desperately looking for the perfect hybrid between a sandal and a bootie to wear on chilly summer nights. The “Rasta” cutout bootie/sandal by L.A.M.B. looks promising, but the $350 price is a big turn-off.

Bebe “Adele” Snake Trimmed Booties

UPDATE (07/31/2009): Just found another great and affordable L.A.M.B. look-a-like by Bebe called “Adele”.

Bebe’s “Adele” bootie is not as spot-on as the Steve Madden version, but you can still see where they draw their inspiration from. I much prefer the heel of this knockoff version though, so grab them while you can.

A trend refusing to die down is the ever-so-popular “rock chic“. Anything black, studded, buckled or wired fits perfectly into this category. Like these studded caged heels by Emilio Pucci for example. They might seem a little plain on their own, but look how amazing they look on Diane Kruger who paired them with a sexy white Hervé Léger number. Yummy!

Promise “Rockstar” Rhinestone Heels

If you’re not in a rockband and plan to wear these statement heels out every day, but still crave some Rock ‘n Roll on your feet, why not consider these budget-friendly heels by Promise? Apart from the price tag they’re practically twins. One major difference is that these are rhinestoned and not studded, but who doesn’t love a bit of bling? Available in a plethora of colors including black, gold, silver, white, yellow and fuchsia.

I’ve been a huge fan of Brian Atwood for a few years and now that SJP flaunted her lilac Locas in the newest Sex and the City installment, it seems like everyone and their mother does love his shoes as well. Brian really stepped up his shoe game lately and these studded platform pumps with clear panel are sick! In a good way. I love the contrast between the feminine lilac color and the kickass sky-high heel and gold studs. Too bad they’re way out of my budget at $800 a pair.

Hypnotic “Parker” Studded Pumps

These Hypnotic “Parker” pumps are a dead ringer for the Brian Atwood Locas. They come in 5 colors including taupe which is the closest to the original lilac, black, grey, red & blue faux suede. The black and grey version popped up on Shiekh Shoes today and you better head over and place your order immediately as these have sold out within hours at a few other retailers already. I couldn’t even write a quick post before they were all gone, so I held back until I saw a fresh restock and well, here you have ‘em. They’re quite cheap at only $49.97. Now don’t waste your time reading here and grab ‘em quickly!

Hello boys & girls, you should probably know that YSL is AOK in my book! In the last couple of years their accessories (especially their shoes) have really become the “It” piece in any fashionable girl’s closet! Clearly, this is old news to those who have these beautiful slingback pumps like the six famous fashionistas below. But for those whose moniker is budget fashionista and wallets are facing some trial & tribulations, well, you and your pretty lil’ broke self (I say this with love) just keep on reading for a less expensive version of the Tribtoo slingbacks.
